***Update***: Crystal Lake Police Investigate Stabbing Incident

Crystal Lake detectives continue to investigate the stabbing incident that occurred last night, April 3, 2017, in the 400 block of Virginia Street and are actively following up on several leads. The injuries sustained by the male victims are not considered life threatening. Additional updates will follow as new information is developed. The original press release follows.

400 block of W. Virginia Street, Crystal Lake, IL.

On Monday, April 3, 2017, at approximately 8pm, Crystal Lake Police and Fire-Rescue responded to the 400 block of Virginia Street for a report of a stabbing involving several people. Upon arrival, police located two male victims suffering from stab wounds. Rescue crews transported the victims to an area hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

Preliminary information gathered does not indicate any known threats to the community. The Crystal Lake Police Department is actively investigating this event. An update on the investigation will be provided when we obtain additional information.

  1. So, the CLPD requests the publics assistance for info (via tipline) regarding this
    crime but refuses to release any details about the victims (names/descriptions) or circumstances.

    Why is this ?

  2. I was listening to the police scanner that night.

    They were looking for a silver sedan.

    Driver was a Hispanic male wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a ball cap, and had a silver belt buckle.

  3. How do we know what a belt buckle looks like if they were driving? Was it on the cap?

  4. Apparently pertinent information from the police scanner didn’t make it to the police press release.

  5. Anything new on this Cal? It’s seems obvious that this was not a random act. Something brought these people together late at night where weapons were needed to secure the transaction…. Just not sure CALLS wants to disclose it though…
