Fleshing Out MCC’s $500,000 Ag Grant

McHenry County Blog reported that McHenry County College received a half million dollar grant for agriculture.

The gift was announced at the last Board meeting by President Cliff Gabbard.

I asked for details and here is what was provided:

[The] $500,000 grant facilitated through the McHenry County Community Foundation is a contribution toward funding for a proposal around a sustainable urban agriculture educational program that is focused on expanding economic development in our county.

The first component of the proposed program is to conduct intensive research around urban agriculture and wealth creation in agriculture, which we anticipate will be the basis for related educational programming offered by MCC.

  1. There is definitely something fishy about this. I expect my sunshine blogger to work nonstop until he gets to the bottom of this. We need to make sure education gets absolutely no more help than needed; which is code for “nothing at all.” Were all those socialist teachers fired? Remember? Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  2. Very scary when they said, “sustainable”.

This is codespeak for new world order agenda.

    Angel is still an idiot.

No vision of what is really going down while he tap dances to his idiotic samba.

  3. I knew there was a conspiracy. Sunshine blogger, please make sure my taxes are not raised because of some socialist, new world order agenda grant to help educate kids…2018, why not yet? Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  4. 500k sounds nice, but not if it ends up costing the taxpayers a bunch more money in the long run to keep the program going.

“Trust not their presents, nor admit the horse.”

  5. Use the money to develop robots to replace farm workers.

I understand the Ag community is upset because many illegal aliens have departed our country.

  6. Take away entitlements and people without a cash cow will do some of that work although we undoubtedly will pay more for food, but less in supporting illegals and migrant workers who have permission to be here, so it may be a wash (or who knows we may do better in savings and put American jobs first!

    Win win?)

  7. Good analogy! This socialist grant is nothing but a trojan horse to our taxpayers. I say kill the grant. Thank you sunshine blogger, another feather in your cap for defending our tax dollars. 2018, please do not delay…tic, tock, tic, tock…
