Police Make Arrest in Connection with May 27th Murder/Home Invasion
Sheriff Bill Prim announces the arrest of JARED J. FOX, 25, of Wonder Lake in connection with the Home Invasion / Murder that occurred on May 27th, 2017.
On June 14th, 2017 the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team (MIAT), with the support of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, formally charged FOX.
FOX was arrested in connection with the Home Invasion and Murder of Donald Jouravleff.
On May 27, 2017 a 911 call received at approximately 1 a.m. sent deputies to the 1800 block of W. Davis Avenue in unincorporated McHenry.
Deputies arrived and found the homeowner, Donald Jouravleff, had been shot. Jouravleff succumb to his injuries on the evening of Saturday, May 27th, 2017.
Preliminary investigation indicated two masked men were responsible for this shooting. Investigators worked tirelessly and developed suspects in connection to this crime. On June 14th, 2017 the arrest of FOX was taken into custody.
Sheriff Prim stated; “This announcement is recognized by law enforcement as a first step in seeking justice for the family of Donald and supporting them through closure.
“The tireless work of our investigators over the last 20 days is a testament to the dedication of McHenry County Law Enforcement”.
This investigation remains extremely active by the Sheriff’s Office and MIAT, and additional arrests are expected.
The task force continues to ask the public’s assistance in identifying additional offenders involved in the incident.

No further information will be released at this time as the case remains active.
JARED J. FOX was charged with the following:
- 1 Count of 1st Degree Murder (Class M Felony)
- 1 Count of Home Invasion (Class X Felony)
- 1 Count of Residential Burglary (Class 1 Felony)
Bond: $2,500,000; Next Court Date: June, 21st 2017 at 9 a.m.
