Dorothy Miller, R.I.P.

Dorothy Miller, daughter, wife and mother of former Algonquin Township Road Commissioners, died yesterday.

When I was State Rep., I remember her calling to complain about her property taxes.

I told her about the farm assessment law, which I thought would apply to her trout farm.

Her obituary follows:

Dorothy Miller, age 80, of Cary embarked on her final journey to join family and friends on June 19, 2017.

She was born May 29, 1937 in Elgin, the daughter of Julian and Cora Dvorak.

Rebecca (Derek) Lee, Bobby Miller, Mallory (Andrew) Rosencrans, Christina (Alan) Anderson and David J. (Jeanette) Miller as well as 11 great grandchildren. Besides her parents Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Delbert Miller and a brother Robert Dvorak.

Dorothy owned and operated Lake Julian Trout Farm in Cary and was a longtime member of the Cary Chamber Board of Directors.

  1. Cal you have reached a new low and shown once again what a low life you are. After what you have said and done to the Miller family how dare you attempt to eulogise the matriarch, how dare you.

  2. Just goes to show you, Cal, no matter what you do, some people just aren’t happy.

    Cal reports on corruption.

If he reports on someone whose mother died, he’s not supposed to report the death?

Guess we have a better idea of who ‘Doodie’ is.

  3. Ain’t that the truth Camp…Doodie sure seems like a miserable person!

  4. Doodie needs to chill.

I see this as a very nice write up from Cal and appreciate it.

Investigating political corruption and basic humanity are two separate things.

    Intelligent people know this.

Not all events are political although most leftists don’t think so.

  5. Although I think it is sacrilege to post ANYTHING on this page, I am sure that Rickey is right. (Forgive me Dorothy. I know you would understand.) Just the wording alone – the matriarch. Wouldn’t someone else say their matriarch?

  6. “When I was State Rep., I remember her calling to complain about her property taxes. I told her about the farm assessment law, which I thought would apply to her trout farm.”

Really?! Wow Cal! This woman passed away who has a family, and yet you still have to attack her because she is a Miller. “Back in my glory days, she was a grouch and not too bright.”

Have some respect man! Put your politics aside! Would you personally liked if someone showed up at your mother’s funeral and slip in a snide comment about her? Write it on the memorial wall? Was it really necessary to note that in your “report” Former Representative? Dance around it like you did no wrong, but denying just shows the lack of human connection you have to yourself and others.

Doodie is right, you are a low life. Do not speak ill of the dead. I wonder if anyone has considered that funerals are not for the dead. Funerals are for the living. But you all don’t like the Millers, so you get a free pass at this. Just read the comments in your reply Cal. Are you okay with a woman’s death be mangled in politics?

If you show up next week to her funeral, I hope you get turned away.

  7. Also, I only checked the blog to see if you had the decency to tone down for a grieving family. I’m not surprised you haven’t, but I wasn’t expecting this.

  8. Serena is a major Miller lover for sure. She has nothing better to do then cry over the election loss everyday for the next 4 years.

  9. I demand more respect for our compassionate conservative sunshine blogger! Sunshine blogger, we stand with you. Anybody who thinks you are an old bitter man is just plain wrong. McHenry county owes you an eternal debt of gratitude for taking a stand as a brave, courageous journalist, who puts his life on the line in the pursuit of freedom, justice, a better democracy, microscopic government, and galactic privatization. Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  10. Imagine for a second that Doodie isn’t a miller.

Rather, doodie is someone hired by one of the millers.

Maybe the reality is Doodie is an attorney.

Now if it’s an attorney and doodie was disclosing any confidential information, What kind of fun would his opponent have with that?

Of course, this is just speculation.
