Man Found Dead in Drainage Pond Unidentified

Crystal Lake Police Seek the Public’s Assistance in Identifying Man Found in Pond

The Crystal Lake Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in order to identify the deceased male found yesterday, June 19, in a retention pond at 4417 Northwest Highway.

Pond between Holiday Inn and D’Andrea’s.

A general description of the deceased follows:

  • Age- 20’s or 30’s
  • Height- Approximately 5’9”
  • Weight- Approximately 180 pounds
  • Hair- Short, black
  • Clothing- Tan cargo style shorts, grey boat shoes, no shirt
  • Tattoos- Several
  • Race- Hispanic

We encourage anyone who may have information relating to the identity of this man to contact the Crystal Lake Police Department at 815-356-3620. You may send an anonymous tip, via cell phone, to the Crystal Lake Police Department by texting the word CLPDTIP along with the tip information to 847411 (Tip411). The Crystal Lake Police Department, in partnership with the McHenry County Coroner’s Office, continues to actively investigate this event.

As reported by the Coroner’s Office, an autopsy has been scheduled for today to determine the cause of death. We will release any additional information as it becomes available.

  1. Seems as though a lot of “Hispanics” are turning up dead lately in McHenry Co.

    I wonder why that is ?

    Thanks to our lovely politicians like Althoff …. although, to be fair, it may not have anything to do with the sad-sack likes of her, maybe it was just some chap who knew ‘too much’ about the sordid goings on over at the Algonquin Road Dist. under its old misadministration.
