Traffic Fatality June 27, 2017 in Hampshire IL
June 27, 2017 @ 1600 McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Anne Majewski, announced today that her office is investigating the death of a Stone Park IL man killed mid-morning June 27, 2017 in a single vehicle truck crash at Mile Marker 43 on I-90 in Hampshire IL.
The Illinois State Police followed by Huntley Fire and Rescue responded to the scene around 1000 am this morning finding the driver of the truck, Fernando Pena, 25, of Stone Park IL on the westbound shoulder of Interstate-90.
It is reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle, crashed into the median and was ejected from the truck.
He was taken to Centegra Huntley Medical Center and subsequently pronounced at 11:17 am.
An autopsy will be performed tomorrow in the McHenry County Coroner’s Office
The crash remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police and the Coroner’s Office.

Mile Marker 43 is about 1/2 mile east of the I-90 / US Route 20 bridge in Hampshire.
That section of I-90 is straight and flat.
