Motorcyclist Killed North of Woodstock

Fatal Motorcycle Crash July 3, 2017

2200 Lamb Road, Woodstock IL.

A 26-year-old male Hebron man was pronounced dead following a single vehicle crash in unincorporated Hartland Township, Woodstock, late Sunday evening.

At approximately 11:29 p.m. on July 2, 2017, members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and the Woodstock Fire Protection District responded to the scene of a crash in the 2200 block of Lamb Road, involving a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

The preliminary investigation indicated that the motorcycle was traveling northbound on Lamb Road when it exited the roadway to the east, hitting a mailbox and several large landscaping rocks.

The motorcycle rolled over ejecting the driver.

There were no other passengers on the motorcycle and no other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The driver was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The initial investigation indicates that alcohol and speed may have been factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroners Office.
