McHenry County’s 1st Way Pregnancy Support Services Files Federal Suit Against Mandate to Inform Clients of Abortion Alternative

The liberals who fun Springfield passed a law which requires Christian organizations who counsel women who are pregnant and don’t know what to do to tell those who enter their doors that abortion is an option.

1st Way Pregnancy Support Services was one of two formerly-called “crisis pregnancy centers” who have filed suit in Federal court to invalidate the law, which took effect in January.

In 2008, 1st Way had the same corner booth it had before and afterwards.

The suit’s argument is two-fold:

  • the law violates their freedom of speech, forcing them to give advice they find morally reprehensible
  • the law violates a Federal statute which bans discrimination against health care providers who do not send patients to abortion clinics

Ultrasound of a baby.  Both 1st Way and Tri-County have such machines.

The Thomas More Society is handling the case, which will be tried in Rockford.

A Winnebago state judge has stopped enforcement of the law until litigation is completed.

  1. Liberalism – culture of death.
One needs look no further than Europe to see what
will become of America if they are not stopped.

  2. Sad but true example of Leftists hiding their real intentions and goals behind a “family friendly” name.

Look at their name “Pregnancy Support Services”. Should be “Abortion Support Services”

This is a “pro-choice” organization but they do not dare offer true choice.

The only choice to them is how to dispose of the unborn child, incinerator or some good old fashioned science experiment, or possibly even a decorative lamp shade.

  3. If a “health care provider” finds a treatment option “morally reprehensible” they should not be in business.

Lying by omission to patients about all possible treatment options does them a terrible disservice and is morally reprehensible.

“The Thomas More Society filed suit this week in federal court on behalf of a pro-life physician and two pro-life pregnancy resource centers challenging Public Act 99-690, the controversial law that forces physicians and other health care providers to provide information about the so-called benefits of abortion and to give referrals to abortion providers upon request.”

  9. Thomas More Society! First Way Pregnancy Center! Bravo!

All they’re trying to do is get recognition for the civil rights of people who have none … not even a right to their very lives, thanks to the libtards who turned America and particularly this blighted State into a nightmare realm.

The North Worst Herald is part of the problem, too, locally.

They insist on using the libtard AP standards always indentifying pro-Life people, organization and efforts as “anti-abortion(ist)” … which is a very narrow and false label as their mission extends to far beyond preborns.

Jack Franks is also part of this problem locally, as is Sen. Althoff.

  10. Thank you pro-lifers for standing up on behalf of sacred life in all forms. Now join me in the fight to end the global aggression of our military empire for decades in which the deaths of innocent men, women, and children are described as “collateral damage” or “unintended consequences.” Since this is a family values, sunshine blog, I’m sure they agree this “family friendly” names are also reprehensible. 2018, are you here yet? Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  11. @Jim,

    Correct you are !

As we all know, Liberalism is a mental disorder.

  12. As a matter of philosophical debate many cultures have worshipped death over honoring life.

The historical truth of all cultural beliefs and their relative success or failure is a matter of irrevocable fact.

In the United States of America we celebrate and honor the individual and life.

If and when the American government has attempted to abrogate individual freedom or destroy life The People have rebelled.

From Jefferson’s destruction of pirates murdering and enslaving American citizens to our modern government’s promotion of murder(not killing, there is a difference liberals), the U.S. Citizen has stood in opposition to our government’s adventurism.

As long as the government, and it’s denizens, promote murder, and beg others to promote it, they will find objectors of conscience.

Eventually, if government continues to promote murder, they will find the value of their own lives in the eyes of Free People.

This has, historically, been the end of murderous unjust governments the world over.

The fact people are still peacefully and philosophically debating this should be celebrated.

Fear the day the debate stops.

  13. @ Priest,

And no other “culture” personifies this today as does “the religion of peace”, AKA Islam.

  14. Prairieburner (good name for the destructive idiot you are), abortion isn’t a ‘treatment’ for pregnancy.

It’s murder and it’s unfortunately an option for some, but it’s not ‘healthcare’, and it’s not ‘treatment’.

There are many options for people who get pregnant yet don’t want to raise a child.

  15. “In the United States we celebrate life.” Agree! Please join me in the fight for universal health care in this country, the richest of the planet. “Oh Lord, protect me from your followers.” Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  16. Angel! You are NOT celebrating life if you believe in universal healthcare. You are being duped. Learn to grow some herbs and stay away from the evil poisons and deadly “healthcare”, anyway. Let us look into Mexico if you still want to seek out doctors and their voodoo “medicine”. They have affordable healthcare. And I hear it is quite good. Just about anyone in Mexico can afford to see a doctor because medical care is very cheap! They don’t have big Pharma running the country like here. Why don’t you promote that instead of your stupid liberal progressive trash that fixes nothing and just enslaves more?

  17. Cindy,

PLEASE – Don’t feed the troll.

We all know that he is immature and this how he feeds his twisted need for attention.

    Ignore him, don’t encourage him.

He brings absolutely nothing intelligent to this blog.

  18. “Deadly healthcare”, “I hear”, I like those arguments. That is what makes this pro-life, sunshine blog so enlightening…tic, tock, tic, tock…

  19. Froggy? You insult the intelligentzia by lumping Angel in with them. (He’s not that smart.)

  20. Llavona again?

Your idol Obama sent in a troop increase to Afghanistan, didn’t he.

If precious Hillary had stolen even more votes, we’d probably be in some kind of conflict with Russia … if we hadn’t first struck w nukes.

BushI, Clinton, Bush II, Obama = DEATH

  21. The old argument of compassionate conservatives: “Liberals are worst.” The question remains unanswered. If you love life because it is sacred, and you love it so passionately that you have no choice other than going to court with an allegation of infringement on your freedom of speech (whatever sense that makes), then it should be expected from you a repudiation of the never ending aggression of our military empire across the globe which kills (or murders, because there is such a big difference) thousands of innocent men, women, and children. 2018, is that you knocking at the door? Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  22. No one wants war, Angel. Are you expecting us to defend it? Try something else as a divider. We aren’t buying the BS.

  23. Burning a prairie isn’t destructive, quite the contrary it promotes growth.

It is a necessary part of the ecosystem that all prairie species evolved with.

As for murder you’re free to believe live that if you want but this is a perfect example of separation of church and state.

Keep YOUR religious beliefs out of MY life!

In so glad that the fastest growing religion in the US is NO religion.

  24. Prarie burner separation of church and state?

Please do tell why it’s a double homicide of a pregnant woman is killed?

    Leftism is a religion.

It’s dogma is clear to the enlightened.

  25. What happened to Reagan? Why isn’t he in the all presidential-war equation? Could it be that St. Ronald hated war? I know, St. Ronald is in the altar of compassionate conservatism. Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  26. If the US is so bad, Angel should discourage illegals from coming here.

How could they in good conscience steal from the government that Angel condemns.

    Can always leave, Angel.

  27. Illegals stealing from the government. How quickly my compassionate conservative friends turn around and fire away to the weakest in our society while pretending to care so much about the unborn. The people of the United States are a great people. Our government is a military and economic empire. These are 2 realities that coexist within our society. Why are my compassionate conservative brothers and sisters unable to understand this? I know, it’s the magic of our sunshine blog, where we care about balanced budgets, small government, and firearms (as opposed to Medicare) for all. Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  28. Llavona ….Reagan only “did” Grenada as an illegal, unconstitutional act of war …. fortunately, not many were killed in that one …except maybe a few relatives of yours in the Cuban army.

In the scope of things, the bigger war criminals are FDR, Lincoln, Woodrow, the two Bushes (Greater and Lesser), your idol Billy Clinton (war criminal for Serbia attacks, etc), and of course, your plastic closeted god, Barack a/k/a Sotero

  29. Reagan only “did” Grenada. Mmmhhh… Setting all the ridiculous name-calling aside for a moment, have you ever heard of El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Chile, the School of the Americas, and other examples of United States’ brutal intervention in Latin America’s political affairs during St. Reagan’s years? Perhaps not, as the concept of Latin America many of my compassionate conservative friends have does not go beyond mariachis and Corona beer…2018, is that you knocking at the door? Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  30. I stand corrected, the United States is the richest country in the history of the Milky Way. Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  31. Certainly a rich county can afford $25 million unfunded liability pension interest per day on the 5 state pension funds (TRS, SURS, SERS, GARS, JRS).

  32. LLavona supports abortion and same sex ‘marriage’ ….. he did when he taught publik skool! Deny itEvil Angel!

  33. Dear members of the compassionate conservative grammar patrol unit: What is exactly a skool? Tic, tock, tic, tock…
