Judge Michael Caldwell Recuses Himself Local 150-Andrew Gasser Case

Judge Michael Caldwell heard arguments from Local 150 of the Operating Engineers and Algonquin Township Road Commissioner Andrew Gasser’s attorney Robert Hanlon today and basically decided to let things ride until later this month.

Judge Caldwell was being asked to require arbitration of the complaints the union has been made against Gasser.

The Judge also withdrew from the case.

    IPLRA was Senate Bill 536 (SB 536) signed into law as Public Act 83-1012 (PA 83-1012) by Republican Governor Jim Thompson on December 27, 1983, effective for the most part or entirely on July 1, 1984.

    There is another set of laws for educational employees, named the Illinois Educational Labor Relations Act (IELRA).

    IELRA was House Bill 1530 (HB 1530) signed into law as Public Act 83-1014 (PA 83-1014) by Governor Jim Thompson on December 27, 1983, effective for the most part or entirely on January 1, 1984.

    These laws contain the collective bargaining laws.

    Collective bargaining law varies greatly state by state.
