Rauner Names Lakewood Man to Illinois Workforce Development Board

Governor announces appointments

CHICAGO (Aug. 4, 2017) – Gov. Bruce Rauner today announced he has made appointments to the Department of Labor, Central Management Services, the Workforce Investment Board and the Gaming Board.

Name: Christopher Wieneke

Position: Assistant Director- Illinois Department of Labor

Gov. Bruce Rauner announced today he has appointed Christopher Wieneke to the Illinois Department of Labor. Wieneke’s background in legislative and governmental affairs will bring years of insight to his position.

Wieneke is currently the Chief Legislative Liaison at the Illinois Department of Labor. In that role, he is responsible for the legislative program of the agency and provides leadership to senior management staff in formulating proposals and initiatives. Wieneke previously was a political analyst for Xpress Professional Services, where he assessed public opinion for legislative and regulatory issues.

Wieneke earned his bachelor’s degree from University of Illinois at Springfield. He lives in Springfield.

Name: Amiel Harper

Position: Assistant Director of Central Management Services

Gov. Bruce Rauner announced today he has appointed Amiel Harper as the Assistant Director of Central Management Services (CMS). Harper’s extensive expertise in brand management and strategy will add significant value to CMS.

Harper is currently the founder and principal of The Morpheus Consultancy, an entrepreneurial consulting firm focused on brand strategy and business development. He previously worked as the associate brand manager of Tyson Foods and the Wrigley Company.

Harper earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Bradley University. He lives in Chicago.

Name: Hector Alejandre

Position: Member – Illinois Gaming Board Member

Gov. Bruce Rauner announced today he has appointed Hector Alejandre to the Illinois Gaming Board. Alejandre’s law enforcement experience will be invaluable to the board.

Alejandre is currently a sergeant for the Illinois State Police. In that role, he conducts Medicaid fraud investigations and allegations of abuse and neglect in nursing homes. He previously was a task force officer with the Drug Enforcement Administration and a corrections senior parole agent for the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Alejandre earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Northeastern Illinois University. He lives in Chicago.

Name: Doris Robinson

Position: Member – Illinois Gaming Board Member

Gov. Bruce Rauner announced today he has appointed Doris Robinson to the Illinois Gaming Board. Robinson will bring decades of executive experience to her position.

Robinson is the owner and CEO of Robinson Hill, Inc. She is responsible for managing food, beverage and retail operations for non-traditional venues such as Navy Pier. The company also partners with brands such as Hudson News, Potbelly Sandwich Works and Areas USA. She previously was an assistant account executive for Leo Burnett Company USA.

Robinson received her bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and her master’s degree in marketing and management policy from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management. She lives in Chicago.

Name: Kevin Battaglia

Position: Member – Illinois Workforce Development Board

Gov. Bruce Rauner announced today he has appointed Kevin Battaglia to the Illinois Workforce Development Board. Battaglia’s operational and workforce management experience is an important perspective for the board.

Battaglia is the vice president of Battaglia Industries. He oversees the management of business operations, including workforce, sales and accounts payable. He is the 2017 chair of the Associated Builders and Contractors board. In that role, he fosters the organization’s mission to serve construction professionals with the state of Illinois.

Battaglia graduated from William Fremd High School. He lives in Lakewood.

  1. If he (Rauner) sticks to his promise to support disobedience of federal immigration laws by signing SB0031 it against state law to cooperate fully with federal law enforcement, he can kiss my support good bye!!

    BTW. locally, the non-Republican who runs as a Republican and fully supports the “round mound” (Pam Althoff) voted YES on SB0031 to make it difficult for federal immigration officials.
