Lakewood Man Running Against Hultgren

George Weber

Across the street from the Crystal Lake Park District’s West Beach lives George Weber.

He has announced his candidacy for the Democratic Party nomination for Congress, hoping to run against incumbent Republican Randy Hultgren.

Weber is a retired chemical engineer.

His wife Beth teaches math, apparently at Lundahl Middle School.

Other candidates are

  • Batavia’s Victor Swanson
  • Jim Walz of Gurnee, who ran against Hultgren in 2016
  • Matt Brolley, Village President of Montgomery
  • Naperville Village Board member Lauren Underwood

Weber’s web site may be found here.

Lakewood Man Running Against Hultgren — 41 Comments

  1. Our LARGEST tax is the school districts.

This guys wife is a teacher.

DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN TO HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH OUR TAXES!!!

  2. District 155 currently has a board member that voted for a $14,000. raise for his wife and she got it!!!

    Beware of this man.

  3. Support public education and teachers. Compassionate conservatives, show your community spirit and volunteer at your nearest elementary school. It will bring great satisfaction to you. Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  4. Twice Dem Dennis ran and lost to Randy.

Now Dem Jim wants to be a two time loser also?

The way to beat Randy is to have a truely fiscally responsible candidate run against him, becuase he doesn’t seem to make that a priority.

Is there a Dem truely fiscally responsible, any where in this country?

    Ya where is this person?

  5. While I would be concerned about electing the spouse of a teacher to any of the various local governing bodies that touch on education, I don’t have that concern about electing someone to Congress, they don’t get involved at that level with education.

I would be more concerned with George’s stand on quite a few other issues.

BTW – I do agree with Mr. Llavona’s statement on volunteering at school.

I especially like helping out with the STEM classes.

Teachers actually have to do a lot with a pretty small toolbag of tricks.

I don’t think they get enough credit for what they have to do

  6. Wouldn’t voting for George be a vote for our Tic, Tock friend?

If my memory serves me right, District 47 has a History of mis-guided teachers.

Just remember folks, Birds of a Feather, Flock together.

  7. So – McHenry County has outrageous property taxes supporting the schools –
and they want you to volunteer to help the teachers who are in line for the Cadillac pension from their 30 % (app) funded pension fund, bring the mile long list of supplies every year, pay the longer list of fees for classes and be happy while doing it.

And when all said and done, the very best schools are proud that less than half of the students are college ready.

Don’t thank a teacher, thank a long suffering taxpayer.

  8. Taxpayers have been supporting the Educational Marxists for far too long.

  9. Ooooops! Remember compassionate conservatives bragging about how much they volunteered during the recent flooding in our beautiful McHenry county? Well, I guess volunteering becomes a virtue depending on what your fanatical ideology allows you to see. Do not despair. Thank a teacher. Fight the good fight in favor of our kids right there where it counts, volunteering in our classrooms…very soon your view on referendums will shift…tic, tock, tic, tock…

  10. What’s his criminal record? Democrats always have them!

Ban Llavona from this blog! Take vote. His comments are full of hate, when they can be understood… and that’s only about half the time.

  11. Oh Mr. Ricardo!

This Weber reminds me of an old landlord of yours; the hen-pecked Fred Mertz!

He’s only doing what his bossy, libtard wife orders him to do.

But you’re right about Democrats perpetually breaking the law and gaming the rigged system.

    Here’s a perfect recent example: https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/democratic-campaigner-jailed-for-registering-dead-voters-in-2016-u.s-electi

and a fine young fellow who was obviously brainwashed by señor Llavona type

  12. I don’t know George Weber at all, but his wife, Beth, whom I’ve always known as “Mrs. Weber” is a actually a fantastic 6th grade math teacher who changed the whole trajectory of my daughter’s life.

She made math very fun and interesting for my daughter, and even now as a sophomore, is pursuing classes for a career in a technical field.

That came about because Mrs. Weber, whose recognizable car is always the first one at school every day, and the last to leave, and who goes to many school events to cheer on her students, made an investment in my kid, and also in my son, who is now thinking about aeronautical engineering.

Cal’s posting is supposed to be about George’s candidacy.

I’m more of a Republican, so I am not out to be his cheerleader, I don’t know anything about him.

But it would be nice to hear what his actual stances are, rather than to make this thread about his wife.

His wife is actually pretty terrific, I don’t know when “teacher” became a bad word.

There are certainly bad teachers out there, and I agree even the good ones maybe shouldn’t be in position to boost their own salaries.

But these generic swipes at Mrs. Weber’s character are way off base.

And I stand by my recommendation that everyone should volunteer in a classroom on occasion.

Not only would it be eye-opening, but it is also satisfying and (mostly) fun.

I love interacting with the kids.

  13. Those interested in the candidate’s positions can find them on his web site, which is linked at the bottom of the article.

  14. Teacher is not necessarily the bad word on this sunshine blog. It is public education and labor unions what my compassionate conservatives despise. I insist on my invitation to volunteer in a public school classroom. It will be a very rewarding experience, especially for my compassionate conservative friends…tic, tock, tic, tock…

  15. Angel spoke the truth there. Leave off the misspelled tick tocks and you’ll almost sound like a real person.

  16. For some strange reason our sunshine blogger overlooked the tragic and shameful events today in Virginia. Since today our sexual-assaulter-in-chief could only stutter a ridiculous, dog-whistle filled statement instead of condemning the domestic terrorism act that took place today in Virginia, I will voluntarily issue a statement to the world on behalf of the entire community of caring and compassionate conservative commenters of our sunshine blog. In the past 24 hours, alt-right crowds showed up in droves to a “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. They carried torches and chanted hateful slogans targeting the black community, Jewish community, immigrants, and LGBTQ folk. This white supremacist violence in Charlottesville is not only a tragedy, but an act of domestic terrorism. Maybe president dump is not so sure about confronting white supremacy head-on, but we at this sunshine blog are steadfast in our unanimous opposition to all forms of bigotry. The compassionate conservative sunshine blog unequivocally stands in solidarity with the counter-protesters in Charlottesville. Hate has no home here. Not in our country. We celebrate and embrace diversity and recognize the fact that the great United States is first and foremost, a nation of immigrants. 2018, is that you? Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  17. ANGEL! It’s called McHenry County Blog for a reason. Think about it!

  18. Is the Agenda 21 conspiracy based in McHenry county? Sit back and relax for an entertaining answer. For those fellows who love the confederate flag because of its supposedly “cultural significance” please understand the issue was finally settled yesterday as the confederate flag marched next to the nazi flag during the “unite the racist right” outburst of hate yesterday in Virginia. 2018, is that you knocking at the door? Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  19. Time for a history lesson for leftists and supporters of the Democrat Party and any so called Democrat teachers who may read this blog.

The Democrat Party was the Party of slavery.

The Democrat Party created the Confederate Flag.

The Democrat Party strongly resisted Republican President Abraham Lincoln in all of his efforts to free the slaves.

Lincoln did overcome the Democrats’ racist efforts and did indeed free the slaves.

  20. One can only pray that Mr. Llavona is never allowed to teach history.

  21. The expected reaction of compassionate conservatives: deflection. Missing from the history lesson is the southern strategy that flipped the south to the republican party. The strategy of “distract and deflect” does not work anymore. The fact is that the confederate flag today is marching next to the nazi flag, which means people carrying them are united in the same agenda of hatred and intolerance toward minorities and immigrants. They prefer phony history lessons than to condemn the racism and bigotry of today. If you are not sure about what you would have done during the rise of Hitler or during the Civil Rights struggle of the 50’s and 60’s, think of what you are saying and doing today. And our president, well, only capable of stuttering a prepared statement and fleeing from the stage as soon as possible…Stand up for love. Stand up to hatred. Stand up to racism. Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  22. Angel? You are a liar. The left had no business even being in Charlottsville. They didn’t even have a permit. The alt right had permits and were NOT protected at all. The blood is on the hands of the leftists that caused the totally awkward situation by illegally prejudicing against honest whites. They shut them down many times aat many turns illegally and withheld city police to guarantee their afe march. The outburst of hate comes from Soro’s BLM and the fake antifa. These are called useful idiots. These will be the first to go down when the puppeteers have had their way. Keep fomenting your lies and see where it gets you. You can be stupid all you like but you are stealing history and that will not be allowed by people with real intelligence. You will never doom those who know to fall prey to your artificial histories and lies. The lines have been drawn over many years of brainwashing and you have failed to see it coming. You have picked the absolute wrong side in history and you will pay with your eternity. Evil has only a short time left.

  23. Angel is a product of the Educational Experiment, he bought it Hook, Line, and Sinker . . time to real him in.

  24. Remember tronald dump and republicans up in arms when president Obama would not say the phrase “islamic extremists” or “islamic terrorism?” Yesterday we witnessed domestic terrorism perpetrated by a conservative which killed one person and injured many others. Instead of condemning domestic terrorism, our president dump denounced violence from “many sides” and all sides are expected to calm down. And our sunshine commenters, well, very creative with history lessons and deflection. Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  25. Are there are a good number of Democrat teachers in K-12 and teachers/professors in colleges/universities who are misguiding and misleading our youth with left wing and “progressive” nonsense?

A question for all parents should be whether or not the teachers of their children stay neutral on all political matters.

Do some teachers inject politics or their views in courses such as math, science, writing?

  26. All parents should expect and demand that the teachers of their children show respect to our elected leaders and our president.

No matter if that be Senator Durbin, Governor Rauner, President Jimmy Carter, President Bill Clinton, President Barack Obama or President Donald Trump.

  27. This is how stupid this “teacher” is. He believes in the sodomite, Illegal, Kenyan, deep state, anti-Christ Barry Soetero.

Don’t be silly, bred. Do you know what the agenda of our schools has been since the sixties? Why do you think they are all unionized? It’s the same as Hollywood. The conservatives have to keep their heads down to keep from being outed! What do you suppose was the real reasonbehind Common Core? Why do you suppose so many people have pulled their children from public education indoctrination? And don’t mistake them for Democrats. They are Communists.

  28. To the millions of readers of this sunshine blog: In case you are still waiting for a condemnation of yesterday’s terrorist attack perpetrated by a white conservative from my compassionate conservative brothers and sisters, please sit down and relax. It may take a while…tic, tock, tic, tock…

  29. For all you racial liars like Llavona and like bred tried to point out: Democrats are pure BS. Democrats are total hypocrites on things like race. You Dems love to forget things like in Chicago December 27, 1941. Edward Scheffler, Chief Justice of the Windy City’s Municipal Court refused to recognize the appointment of a black attorney, Patrick B. Prescott Jr., as an associate justice on the same bench. The appointment was made by Illinois Republican governor Dwight Green!

  31. Well, well, well, well. Unsurprisingly, my compassionate conservative brothers and sisters refuse to even acknowledge the domestic terrorism attack that took place last Saturday. Some have the audacity to state this is not a McHenry county issue when even soon-to-be former congressman peter roskam (lower case intended) issued a statement about this incident. However, my compassionate friends, well, they just do not see race anywhere. Very creatively, they find the ability to call racist the person denouncing the display of racism perpetrated by white supremacists and neo-nazis last Saturday in Virginia. The tricks of history lessons and deflection do not work any longer. We know them too well. But our millions of readers must agree, this is where the beauty of this sunshine blog reveals itself to the highest imaginable degree. 2018, are you in need of a few congressmen for retirement? We can help you over here…tic, tock, tic, tock…

  32. What is the number of US Citizens murdered annually by illegal immigrants versus the number of US Citizens murdered annually by white supremacists?

Should we scour the newspapers for those statistics every day and post them under a blog article about another topic.

How about the FBI most wanted list?

    County Most wanted lists?

    State Police most wanted lists?

More White Supremacists or illegal immigrants?

  33. Our prodigious researcher showing his/her true hateful colors again. We know this people too well and we know their tricks of distraction and deflection too well. Congressional districts are the 435 areas from which members are elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. After the apportionment of congressional seats among the states, which is based on decennial census population counts, each state with multiple seats is responsible for establishing congressional districts for the purpose of electing representatives. Each congressional district is to be as equal in population to all other congressional districts in a state as practicable. The boundaries and numbers shown for the congressional districts are those specified in the state laws or court orders establishing the districts within each state. Congressional districts for the 108th through 112th sessions were established by the states based on the result of the 2000 Census. Congressional districts for the 113th through 115th sessions were established by the states based on the result of the 2010 Census. Boundaries are effective until January of odd number years (for example, January 2015, January 2017, etc.), unless a state initiative or court ordered redistricting requires a change. All states established new congressional districts in 2011-2012, with the exception of the seven single member states (Alaska, Delaware, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming). How about that for some compassionate prodigious research? Because here in this sunshine blog, we are committed and passionate about transparency…Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  34. A valid point was posed, which agitator paints as hateful, and then agitator has no meaningful response.

There’s a lot of rhetoric going around since Saturday talking about the Democratic parties past -then completely neglecting and negating the current political climate.

Here’s a hilarious video made by “PragerU”, not a University, but a Youtube channel “founded in 2011 by radio talk show host Dennis Prager and radio producer and screenwriter Allen Estrin” — enjoy

  36. Our audacious irresponsible researcher reveals his/her true colors by pulling the undocumented immigrants into the mix with no other than white supremacists (lower case intended). Interestingly, her/his irresponsible conjecture (disguised as intellectual curiosity) of undocumented immigrants representing a greater problem to our country than the racist hatred pouring from the souls of white supremacists fits in perfect harmony with the long list of racist comments seen here in this glorious sunshine blog. A wonderful stunt of deflection that can only be seen here in our McHenry county sunshine blog commanded by our equally irresponsible sunshine blogger. Not a word condemning the terrorist who murdered a peaceful counter-protester. But we know them too well. This irresponsible bitter person disguised as a “seeker of facts” is been trying to bully me and others out of this sunshine blog for months. Little he knows that this intimidation tactic does not work anymore. Perhaps some prodigious research is in order to investigate the long list of murders, beatings, lynchings, harassment and other horrendous crimes committed by the ku klux klan over many decades. Instead, this pseudo-researcher prefers to spend his time trashing labor unions (interestingly, another victim of nazi Germany, as labor union leaders were arrested and sent to concentration camps) and presenting us a textbook case of projection, as he/she constantly accuses others of agitators, being himself/herself a perfect example of it. And now for all of you, today’s entry of my prodigious research training. “The Ku Klux Klan, with its long history of violence, is the most infamous – and oldest – of American hate groups. Although black Americans have typically been the Klan’s primary target, it also has attacked Jews, immigrants, gays and lesbians and, until recently, Catholics. Over the years since it was formed in December 1865, the Klan has typically seen itself as a Christian organization, although in modern times Klan groups are motivated by a variety of theological and political ideologies.Started during Reconstruction at the end of the Civil War, the Klan quickly mobilized as a vigilante group to intimidate Southern blacks – and any whites who would help them – and to prevent them from enjoying basic civil rights. Outlandish titles (like imperial wizard and exalted cyclops), hooded costumes, violent “night rides,” and the notion that the group comprised an “invisible empire” conferred a mystique that only added to the Klan’s popularity. Lynchings, tar-and-featherings, rapes and other violent attacks on those challenging white supremacy became a hallmark of the Klan. After a short but violent period, the “first era” Klan disbanded after Jim Crow laws secured the domination of Southern whites. But the Klan enjoyed a huge revival in the 1920s when it opposed (mainly Catholic and Jewish) immigration. By 1925, when its followers staged a huge Washington, D.C., march, the Klan had as many as 4 million members and, in some states, considerable political power. But a series of sex scandals, internal battles over power and newspaper exposés quickly reduced its influence. The Klan arose a third time during the 1960s to oppose the civil rights movement and to preserve segregation in the face of unfavorable court rulings. The Klan’s bombings, murders and other attacks took a great many lives, including, among others, four young girls killed while preparing for Sunday services at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Ala. Since the 1970s the Klan has been greatly weakened by internal conflicts, court cases, a seemingly endless series of splits and government infiltration. While some factions have preserved an openly racist and militant approach, others have tried to enter the mainstream, cloaking their racism as mere “civil rights for whites.” Today, it is estimated that there are between 5,000 and 8,000 Klan members, split among dozens of different – and often warring – organizations that use the Klan name”. Source: the cyberspace…tic, tock, tic, tock…

  37. What the Hell are you babbling about, Angel? You watching teevee again? Stop buying the new world order agenda. Sheesh it’s getting old with your rants about baloney issues. Your stupidity is egregious.

  38. True that people who opposed the Republican party’s reform at the time unleashed a terrible beast.

The same ideology exists today in the form of the biggest oppressors of African Americans – namely those who claim to help and support them, the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton etc…

These individuals have created great wealth from keeping the black community down.

They have done absolutely nothing for the schools of these children simply because kids don’t vote and they want the excuse for the adults that inequality exists and they are their champions.

These evil men and women not only perpetuate poverty, they need it to keep their wealth.
The Democratic model that has traded votes for welfare has been incredibly successful and LBJs famous quote rings true.

The real evil is the covert benevolence that we all pay for and keeps the ghetto alive and the scum politicians in power

    Sad, very sad.
