County Board Meeting at 7 PM to Consider Franks’ Patronage Workers and Valley Hi Privatization Move

Tonight at 7 PM the McHenry County Board will meet at the call of eight Board members to consider a resolution to eliminate the positions from which Board Chairman Jack Franks’ two patronage workers are being paid without County Board authorization.

In addition, a resolution will be considered to vitiate the Request for Proposal for a firm to seek bids to privatize Valley Hi.  No one I have talked to knew about this move by Franks before last Thursday.

At some point about 7, people should be able to use this page to listen to the meeting.  (In the upper left hand corner of the part about the August 23rd meeting is the word “audio.”  Click there.)

  1. Well either Franks didn’t want audio tonight or is stalling the meeting.

Thats transparency for you from the one that introduced it.

Guess he only wants transparency when it suits him.

  2. There was no meeting Sue.

Franks dismissed everyone when only 9 Board Members showed up.

  3. Another Jack Franks scandal! Sunshine blogger, let’s call this one “everybody go home gate” or “I do not feel like holding a meeting tonight-gate.” Tic, tock, tic, tock…

  4. You should have atteneded Sue; most interesting (non)meeting since the January county board meeting where it took 1.5 hours to adopt the agenda!

Franks left the room shouting about OMA violations.

Edgar County Watchdogs spoke up and shed light in the eyes of the board members and the 20 or so members of the public that decided to stay for discussion after no quorum was met.

Great discussion from Craig Wilcox and Jeff Thorsen who also took questions from the audience.

  5. I arrived at 7:05 and guard did not allow me to enter.

    Said meeting was over.
