I’m hearing a lot special interests spread misinformation about the so-called ‘Evidenced Based’ Education bill SB1. Groups like FundingILFuture.org keep saying SB1 doesn’t bail out Chicago pensions, but that isn’t true.

Page 356 (lines 16-24) is the language that allows CPS to artificially lower their local revenue by their unfunded pension liability.

Page 363 and 364 (line 4 on 363 through line 16 on 364) is the language that puts the Block Grant and the normal cost into CPS’ hold harmless.
