State Line Road Garage Fire Did Not Contain Explosives

Sheriff’s Office Investigates Fire

 

On Sunday, August 27, at approximately 7:31 p.m. members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s
Office responded to the 20000 block of State Line Road in unincorporated Harvard in Hebron Township to assist with a structure fire with possible explosives.

Upon their arrival, deputies observed a detached garage on fire but no evidence of explosive devices.

After securing the scene, Deputies assisted the Harvard Fire Protection District with moving the residents of the home to a safe location and traffic control.

Two persons were treated for fire-related injuries and the garage was a total loss.

That area of State Line Road was closed for approximately 3 hours

The Harvard Fire Protection District requested the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office assistance in investigating the fire.

McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Investigators were on scene today and did not see any evidence of explosive devices. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
