AFSCME Union Leader Carlos Acosta Running for McHenry County Board

AFSCME Union Steward Carlos Acosta spoke to the well-attended AFSCME Woodstock Square rally two years ago.

In its coverage of Monday’s Labor Day Rally at the Woodstock Square, the Northwest Herald reports that public union official Carols Acosta announced he is running for the McHenry County Board in District 5.

The rally at which the above photo was taken was much better attended than the Labor Day Rally as you can see by comparing the photos from the 2015 event on McHenry County Blog with yesterday’s gathering’s photos in the Northwest Herald.

Acosta is also the District 5 Chair of the McHenry County Democratic Central Committee.

  1. Guess who probably knew and hinted about it already!

If this guy is so talented as said before, why not run for a State or Fed position?

More like a weed that hasn’t flowered yet?

  2. So AFscam Carlos wants to be on the County Board.

Probably figures he can do more damage to Property Taxpayers this way.

  3. Wears more jewelry than a little girl.

Wonder where he’s hiding his pink hat?

  4. Nuf said.

Do not need a union leader on the board.

All unions are good for is raising the cost of everything anf filling their coffers.

NOT ELECT A UNION LEADER FOR ANYTHING.

  5. Some folks tried to warn voters of what would happen if Franks was made chair.

    This is only the beginning.

  6. Did anyone see the crowd shot posted by the NWHerald.

Couldn’t have been more than 12 people there…

  7. What’s his police record?

Is that a bracelet and necklace of human teeth! OMG!

  8. I don’t think Acosta would be any worse than Jung, but that’s not really saying a whole lot.

Hopefully, Jung will either choose not to run again or else get dispatched by a real conservative in the primary.

  9. It’s a Conflict of interest for a
public sector union leader to be on a school, municipal or county govt.
