Robert Wilbrandt Invites Folks to Campaign Kickoff Sept 19

Stage Left Cafe next to the Opera House in Woodstock is where appointed Judge Robert Wilbrandt will be launching his campaign on Tuesday, September 19th, from 5-7.

The price is right: “Free!”

For food, at least. There is a “cash bar available.”

In other judicial news, Tiffany Davis was sworn in yesterday. She is running in the western part of McHenry County.

  1. There are two McHenry County 22nd Circuit Court judgeships up for election in 2018, due to two retiring judges.

    They are partisan elections identified by the last name of the retiring judge followed by vacancy.

    There is the McIntyre Vacancy and the Weechs Vacancy.

    The primary election will be held March 20, 2018.

    The general election will be held November 6, 2018.

    The term of office for elected Circuit Court Judges is 6 years.

    McIntyre Vacancy

    22nd Circuit Court Judge Maureen McIntyre retired at the end of 2016.

    The Illinois Supreme Court appointed McHenry County Associate Judge Robert Wilbrandt to complete the term of the McIntyre judgeship until a new Judge is elected and takes the Oath of office in 2018.

    Judge Wilbrandt is running against current McHenry County Clerk Mary McClellan in the Republican Primary.

    Weech Vacancy

    22nd Circuit Court Judge Charles Weech retired September 1, 2017.

    The Illinois Supreme Court appointed Winnebago County Assistant State’s Attorney Tiffany Davis to complete the term of the Weech judgeship until a new judge is elected and takes the oath of office in 2018.

    She previously worked in the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s office.

    Judge Davis is running against McHenry County Associate Judge Joel Berg in the Republican Primary.

  2. There will be another race on the ballot.

    Judge Caldwell announced his retirement yesterday.

    It should be far enough out from the primary that it will be on the ballot in March.

  3. Judge Caldwell was retained in 2014, and his term expires in 2020.

    Are you sure that there will be an election, or will the Circuit court judges appoint someone to finish his term?

    The terms for McIntyre and Tiffany Davis both expire in 2018.
