Car Hits Motorcycle on Route 20, Motorcyclist Critical

Sheriff’s Office Investigates Serious Injury Motorcycle Crash

A 20-year-old man was listed in critical condition Saturday morning following a motorcycle versus vehicle crash in unincorporated Woodstock.

An investigation indicated that at 7:26 a.m., on Saturday, September 9, a 2001 Suzuki motorcycle was headed eastbound on U.S. Route 120 east of Raffel Road.

The driver of the Suzuki crossed over the double yellow centerline attempting to pass a line of cars.

A 2002 Buick Century was slowing to turn left into a parking lot.

As the Buick turned the motorcycle collided with the Buick, ejecting the driver from the motorcycle.

The driver of the motorcycle was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash.

He was transported via Flight for Life to Condell Hospital in Libertyville with serious injuries.

The driver of the Buick sustained no injuries.

No other occupants were within, or riding on, any of the vehicles.

U.S. Route 120 remained closed for approximately 4 hours during the investigation.

Members of the Woodstock Police Department and Woodstock Fire Protection District assisted.

The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit
