Three-Car Crash on Route 176 West of Route 47

Three-Vehicle Traffic Crash Results in Injuries

Two women were transported to area hospitals in critical condition Tuesday following a three  vehicle traffic crash involving a Chevrolet Dually Truck, a Lexus and a Honda Civic,  in unincorporated Dorr Township, Woodstock.

On October 10, 2017, at 3:36 p.m. the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department, Lakewood Police, Woodstock Fire Protection District and Marengo Rescue Squad responded to a traffic crash on Route 176 west of Dean St in unincorporated Dorr Township.

The driver of the Chevrolet, a 17 year-old male, and the passenger, a 25 year-old male, were transported to Huntley Centegra Hospital in good condition.

The driver of the Lexus, a 59 year-old female, and her passenger, a 37 year-old female, were initially transported to Huntley Centegra Hospital.

The 37 year-old female was later transported to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge and the 59-year-old to Condell Hospital in Libertyville.

The driver of the Honda, a 47 year-old female was treated and released from the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates the Chevrolet truck was traveling eastbound on US Route 176 and for unknown reasons crossed into the westbound lane of travel striking the Honda and then striking the Lexus head on.

The three vehicle head-on crash resulted in a road closure for approximately four hours.

Seatbelts were worn in the Honda and Lexus, it is unknown if the occupants of the Chevrolet truck were wearing their seatbelts.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash and charges are pending.

The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigation Unit.
