Woodstock Arsonist Arrested by Sheriff’s Department

Arrest in Woodstock Arson Case

Deputies from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office arrested Carl K Rice, 28, of Woodstock Friday in connection with a house fire that occurred in unincorporated Woodstock on September 22, 2017.

On that date, at approximately 7:17 p.m. deputies from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office were requested to respond to the scene of a fire at a residence in the 2900 block of Raycraft Road in unincorporated Woodstock.

An arson investigation was initiated by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Arson Investigators.

The investigation developed information that Rice had intentionally started the fire, which caused substantial damage to the residence.

However, no one was injured.

As a result of the investigation deputies obtained an arrest warrant for Rice and he was arrested and charged with Residential Arson.
