Man Gets Four Years for Possession of LSD & Heroin with Intent to Deliver

JAMES R. BERNARDY SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSES OF DELIVERY OF LSD AND POSSESSION OF HEROIN WITH INTENT TO DELIVER

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announced that James R. Bernardy, 26, of McHenry, Illinois, was sentenced today to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Honorable Judge Prather after admitting to violating terms of his probation.

Bernardy was placed on probation on October 4, 2016, after pleading guilty to delivering LSD and possessing heroin with the intent to deliver it. On March 21, 2016,

Bernardy sold LSD to an informant within 1,000 feet of Chauncey H. Duker School in McHenry, Illinois.

On March 29, 2016, members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department served Bernardy with an arrest warrant at his home.

While in Bernardy’s home, deputies found him to be in possession of heroin that was packaged for individual sale.

This case was investigated by members of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department.

This case was prosecuted by Brian Miller of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
