Richmond Woman Arrested in Heroin Dealing

November 2, 2017 – A 63-year-old Richmond woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with drug-related offenses following an investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Narcotics Task Force (which includes Task Force Officers from Lake in the Hills PD and McHenry City PD).

After receiving numerous complaints of suspicious activity at a house in the 8300 block of North Solon Rd in Richmond, members of the Narcotics Task Force initiated a month-long investigation.

In the evening hours of November 1, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Narcotics Task Force served a search warrant on the residence.

After a search was conducted, the conclusion of the investigation, detectives arrested Brenda Haseman, 63, and seized

  • 84 individual bags of heroin ready for street use;
  • 10 Alprazolam pills;
  • packaging materials; and
  • $1,629 in U.S. currency.

The estimated street value of the narcotics seized is $1,780.

“Anytime we can take heroin off the street, we are happy to do so,” McHenry County Sheriff Bill Prim said.

“Unfortunately, opioid-related deaths have become an epidemic in our community.”

Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of offender(s).

Arrested: Brenda Haseman, Female, 63, Richmond, Illinois

Charges:

  • Unlawful Delivery of Controlled Substance (class 1)
  • 2 counts – Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance (class 4)

Next court date: November 6th at 9:00 a.m.

Bond Amount: $100,000

The charges against this individual are merely allegations against her. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    It was the only way she could afford to pay her McHenry Co. Properrty taxes.

    She didn’t want to become a homeless public charge, while the CIA makes tons of cash off its opium plantations in occupied Afghanistan.
