Republican Precinct Committee in Algonquin Township elected Algonquin’s Glen Swanson to replace Andrew Gasser as Party Chairman.

Here are his comments:

For the last couple of years I have been the Precinct 62 Committeeman.

As Precinct Committeeman my focus has been for the voters interests.

I have worked as a liaison between the voters and McHenry Count officials and candidates.

I have built a trust with the voters in my precinct and have encouraged them to go to the polls and vote!

My goal as Algonquin Township Republican Party Chairman is to unite the party as well as promote all of Algonquin Townships with fair representation.

I personally feel we need to grow the Township with more involvement making McHenry a stronger base.

To do that we need to begin filling every precinct with Precinct Committee men and women with people wanting to work to make McHenry County stronger.

Basically the Precinct Committee person networks with the people in the Precinct. These voters are more than voters, they are also their neighbors.

By networking Republican values with them, I encourage them to tell them how important their votes mean for their concerns.

As Precinct Committee men and women, they are represented as a leader for the voters in their precinct and they can make a difference.

As for my first week of on the job, it has been filing the proper paperwork and getting to know the candidates of the Township and making connections.

Starting out in Harvard, I stopped by and met many at Bill Prim’s meet and greet.

Sheriff Bill Prim’s Meet and Greet.  Glen Swanson can be seen on the left.

Later in the week I attended Demetri Tsilimigras fundraiser in Crystal Lake again making more connections with more candidates and officials.

I also have touched base with Allen Skillicorn and his workings on gathering signatures at Nicks Pizzeria on Sunday November 19th 2-4pm.

Sunday I walked with the Walsh Freedom walkers in the Algonquin area, later meeting up with Dan McConchie and a host of candidates in Mundelein for collection of signed petitions.

I have been very appreciative of the many who have offered help and assistance in making the Chairman transition a success.

  1. A refreshing face for our county’s republican party. God save us…tic, tock, tic, tock…

  2. Sunshine blogger. I understand this was an honest mistake, but you forgot to post on yesterday’s protest against our honorable peter roskam. I know, it did not happen inside McHenry county limits, or so your excuses go. The same thing happened on that Navy Pier fundraiser you covered so prominently…tic, tock, tic, tock…

  3. angle I think I figured out your tick tock its your pension getting ready to explode

  4. Glen with supporters like Orville watch your back as he is likely to turn states evidence when the going gets tough. Unless your a gun runner like Richard Beck and then you can stay in his home.
