Fire in Algonquin Ranch Home

A press release from the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District:

1199 Stonegate Road, Algonquin, Residential Structure Fire

Late Monday morning, on December 18, 2017, at 11:35 AM, the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 1199 Stonegate Road in Algonquin.

Firefighters arrived at 11:37 AM and found a single story ranch home with large volumes of smoke coming from the rear of the home.

Crews initiated an aggressive interior attack while simultaneously searching the home for any possible victims.

The residents were able to self-evacuate from the home.

One of the occupants of the home was transported by ambulance to Centegra-Huntley with non-life threatening injuries.

Also, a family dog was safely rescued by fire crews.

The origin of the fire was in the basement and the fire was under control within 15 minutes of the arrival of the fire department.

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by Algonquin Police, Crystal Lake Fire Department, Cary Fire Protection District, and Fox River Grove Fire Protection District, and Huntley Fire Protection District.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated

A damage estimate is not yet available.
