No Foul Play Suspected In Algonquin Fire Death

A press release from McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski:

Anne L. Majewski M.D., the McHenry County Coroner, announced tonight that her office is
investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in her home in Algonquin Illinois this
afternoon.

Huntley Fire and Rescue and the Algonquin Police were called to the home after a 911 call was made by a family member at 13:38 (1:38pm) today when extensive soot and smoke damage was found upon entering the home. No active fire was reportedly found.

The decedent, Rosemary Schwieger, age 72, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:21pm. An autopsy will be conducted Monday afternoon in the Coroner’s Office to determine cause of death.

The scene remains under investigation by Huntley Fire and Rescue and the Illinois State Fire Marshall.

No foul play is suspected. The office will provide additional information late Monday after the autopsy
