Retirement and Promotion in Harvard Police Department

A press release from the Harvard Police Department:

On 12-18- 17 Officer Nick Hill was promoted to Sergeant with the Harvard Police Department. Sgt. Hill replaces Sgt. Bob Schultz, who retired earlier in the month after over 24 years of service.

Sgt. Schultz had served as the Midnight Shift Commander, for two years and had functioned as a Range Officer, Bike Patrol Officer, Juvenile Officer, Investigations, OC Spray Instructor, Gang Officer, Armorer and Truck Enforcement during his career.

Sgt. Schultz was awarded the Medal of Valor in 2001, as well as several commendations and letters of appreciation.

Sgt. Hill has been with the Harvard Police Department since March 2013.

He attended the Illinois State Police Academy and, after successful completion, was placed on afternoon shift as a Patrol Officer.

Prior to his hiring with the City he was employed by the Lake Geneva, (WI) Police Department as a part-time Officer for approximately 2 years.

He is also a member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard and is currently the First Sergeant of the 950th Engineer Company located in Superior, WI.

Sgt. Hill will be retiring from the military next year with 20 years of service.

Sgt. Hill will take over as the Midnight Shift Commander in January and has already been certified as a Juvenile Officer, a Gang Officer, a Range Officer and an Instructor.

    Sgt Schultz was one of the good guys, we in the community are sorry to see him go

    He was a Good cop who put in the time and effort to make our Community safe…..
