  1. Say Bob Anderson:
An engineer dies and reports to the Pearly Gates.
Saint Peter checks his dossier and not seeing his name there, accidentally sends him to Hell.
It doesn’t take long before the engineer becomes rather dissatisfied with the level of comfort in Hell.
He soon begins to design and build improvements. Shortly thereafter, Hell has air conditioning, flush toilets and escalators. Needless to say, the engineer is a pretty popular guy.
One day, God calls Satan and says: “So, how are things in Hell?”
Satan replies: “Hey, things are going great. We’ve got air conditioning, flush toilets, and escalators. And there’s no telling what this engineer is going to come up with next.”
“What!” God exclaims: “You’ve got an engineer? That’s a mistake – he should never have been sent to Hell. Send him to me.”
“Not a chance,” Satan replies: “I like having an engineer on the staff, and I’m keeping him!”
God insists: “Send him back or I’ll sue.”
Satan laughs uproariously and answers: “Yeah, right. And where are you going to get a lawyer?

  2. I have been curious as to why Wyoming loses population but remains attractive for tax (and other) reasons. When Illinois tightened reins on welfare benefits (several years ago) there was a migration from Illinois to Wisconsin by people who counted on social services / welfare for existence. Now it appears we may have the same occurring on a national level but this time Illinois is more attractive.

For the years 2015 – 2016 the IRS reports that 357 exemptions (persons declared as dependents on tax returns) with an adjusted gross income of $ 47,410,000 moved from Illinois to Wyoming while 276 exemptions with an income of $ 6,215,000 left Wyoming to come to Illinois.
In total, 21,957 exemptions with income of $831,194,000 moved into Wyoming while 25,606 exemptions with income of $723,819,000 left Wyoming.

For the years 2015-2016 Illinois had a net loss of 87,837 exemptions but the worst part is those who migrated INTO Illinois came with adjusted gross earnings of $5,618 LESS per exemption LESS!!

Where Forbes gets their info: https://taxfoundation.org/state/illinois/

Individual income tax rate in Illinois —— 3.75 %

State and local individual income tax Collections per capita —- $1,292
Note: this includes every child, man and woman in the State regardless of income or ability to work.
    – as higher income wage earners leave the state and they are back-filled with lower income wage earners and public sector unions keep increasing their income (in addition those we elect to office keep approving non-union worker wage increases in the public sector)taxes in this state will continue to increase

State and local tax burden ———– 11 %

Tax Freedom Day in 2017 —– April 29

    – as higher income wage earners leave the state and they are back-filled with lower income wage earners and public sector unions keep increasing their income (in addition those we elect to office keep approving non-union worker wage increases in the public sector)taxes in this state will continue to increase.

    – in this county you have an deceitful County Board Chairman (my opinion) who says we can reduce property taxes but he does absolutely nothing to reduce salary increases. How can we keep paying more (btw these salary increases have a dramatic effect on the guaranteed pensions) and lower taxes? Is the voting public that stupid they buy this?

Illinoi stats as shown today on the Tax Foundation website:
    Overall tax rank 29
    Corporate taxes 36
    Individual taxes 16
    Sales taxes 35
    Property taxes 45
    Unemployment Insurance 42

  3. Trustees should get paid, if at all, on a per attended mtg basis, not a flat rate!
