A press release from McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski:

McHenry County Coroner, Dr. Anne Majewski, announced this afternoon that her office is investigating the death of a passenger in a motor vehicle killed yesterday evening, February 24, 2018, in rural Seneca Township [on Kishwaukee Road].

A 911 call was made at 1939 yesterday with Marengo Fire and Rescue and McHenry County Sheriff’s Police responding to the scene of a single car crash in the 17600 block of Kishwaukee Valley Road.

The female passenger, age 29 of Rockford, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2004 (8:04PM) yesterday evening.

The driver was taken to Centegra Huntley Hospital where he was evaluated.

An autopsy will be performed tomorrow afternoon in the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

The identity of the deceased is withheld at this time to insure notification of all next of kin. .

The death remains under investigation by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Police Accident Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
