Group Trying to Defeat McHenry County’s Only Black Elected Official Calls His Supporters “Racists”

Only readers of McHenry County Blog have any idea of the sleazy mailings being put out by Jack Franks allies in an attempt to defeat those who dare question Jack Franks’ efforts to have total control of County government not under independently-elected officials

Maybe the Northwest Herald doesn’t have employees who receive mailings aimed at those who have previously voted Republican.

In any event, let’s review what is coming out of Cook County from the anonymous Illinois Integrity Fund, which claims not to have spent $5,000.

Here is the return address of the pop-up PAC calling itself the “Illinois Integrity Fund.” No name is attached.  The comments under the article about the return address are interesting.

I infer that claim because once a group spends $5,000, it must register with the State Board of Elections.  The Illinois Integrity Fund (with a name straight out of “1984”) has not filed with the Board of Elections.

Let’s review the mailings so far.

First noticed were mailings against McHenry County Clerk candidate Joe Tirio and one against District 6 County Board candidates Ersel Schuster and Orville Brettman.

Here’s the one calling Tirio a crook:

All the candidates against these mailings from Cook County have attacked candidates who have fallen into lock step with Jack Franks governance.

Read the comments under the original article last Saturday to learn of the really gross representations being made.

Also see “Tirio Rebuts Hit Piece, e.g., ‘I haven’t hired four cronies (I haven’t even hired four regular people!’)

Here is the one aimed at the candidacies of Orville Brettman and Ersel Schuster.  It arrived, coincidentally, of course, with the Northwest Herald article about Schuster.

The next mailing to come to my attention was a hit piece on County Board member Chuck Wheeler, McHenry County’s only black County Board member.  He is supported by the three others being attacked as being racists, but one cannot expect Jack Franks’ allies to be consistent.

It’s too much to expect hit pieces to be fair, so you’ll have to go to this story for the rebuttal, which includes the fact that Wheeler was one of only four County Board members to vote against the payment.

Now comes a second mailing attacking Joe Tirio:

Of course, Tirio is one who is supporting Chuck Wheeler’s re-election, so I guess that makes him a racist.

Brettman’s last job for the Federal government put him in the position of being able to turn off the radar that the FAA uses to control planes.

Clearly someone with a lot of money (want to guess who?) doesn’t want conservatives in office.

There are ten more days until the election, so expect more attack pieces, probably based upon tomorrow’s Northwest Herald article.

Group Trying to Defeat McHenry County’s Only Black Elected Official Calls His Supporters “Racists” — 54 Comments

  1. Although these mailers are laughable to anyone who takes five minutes a week to engage with local issues keep in mind 90% of the electorate has no clue if these are true.

If you care about your candidate or your campaign then you will move to help rebut this garbage everywhere you have influence.

Negative hit pieces move the election results.

If they didn’t no one would use them.

    Political lying is Protected Speech.

Get to work if you want Madigan’s Agenda for our county defeated.

Otherwise… Prepare to get the government you deserve.

  2. Your assessment that supporting Wheeler somehow eliminates them as racists is a flawed analysis. Either way- I have an issue with him, the representative from District 4 testifying before the Illinois review board concerning the Mercy hospital in Crystal Lake. The County Board had not formally offered support. The hospital is not in his district. And he identified himself as an expert on healthcare economics – being an insurance salesman does not make you an expert in healthcare economics. That makes me personally question his integrity

  3. But it does make Jack’s friends who are sending out mailings against Wheeler racists, doesn’t it, if they don’t send out a similar mailing against Aavang and Smith, two who actually voted to pay the $25,000?

  4. Mary, so does C. Steven Tucker who sells health insurance and predicted all that was wrong with Obamacare and was 100% vindicated in his analysis.

  5. The Wheeler hit pieces have no reference to race at all, only about violating the open meetings act.

They are implying Joe is a racist, that’s obvious.

  6. With regards to issues related to racism in color-blind McHenry county, I feel compelled to quote no other than our sexual-assaulter-in-chief tronald dump during the white nationalists and kkk members march last fall: “There are fine people on both sides.” Stay tuned…tic, tock, meow, meow, tic, tock…

  7. Mary Margaret Maule is a Big Supporter of the Teacher’s Union, if I remember correctly.

We know how they work protecting the Bad Teachers . . . so her comment does not surprise me.

  8. Choking on the irony of MMM questioning anyone’s integrity.

When she’s not busy stuffing her face, she’s busy running her mouth, disparaging anyone who challenges her progressive cronies.

Better government, lower taxes, etc, are far less important to her than seeing her crony friends in power.

  9. It doesn’t matter what race you are; only liberals are allowed to play the race card.

They’re also the only people who are are allowed to care about children or the environment.

It’s all written down in the rules somewhere.

  10. So let’s see, the dirty Crook County Democrats are spending tens of thousands $ to Anonymously send out hit pieces that accuse

*Orville and Ersel, (aka Grandma and Grandpa Liveright)

*Joe Tirio, one of the GOP’s Golden Boys

*and Chuck Wheeler, the equivalent of neighborly ‘Gordon Robinson’ from Sesame Street,
of being nefarious, crooked, racist and hateful?? What bunk!

Democrats always point and accuse their opponents of what They’re guilty of.

  11. You know that we are saving this country when fascists are squealing.

The fascist demoKrats have no policies, just dictatorship, lies, fingerpointing.

    We are winning.

  12. Who’s Klaatu Barada Nikto supporting? Tic, toc, meow, meow, tic, tock, tic, tock…

  13. Sorry. I just spit coffee laughing at Cal’s reasoning regarding mailers being racist.

He throws out his raw meat posts to incite his racist followers to salivate like dogs on how is lame post proves that their myopic views are true.

These posters know who they are and what they stand for.

Additionally, Cal, knows darn well why the mailer only hit Wheeler.

Wheeler is perceived as the one to beat by this group.

Such a transparent little fool you are cal.

  14. OK “nob” you have read the ‘fake news” now read the real news written by the person being excoriated by the ’round mound’s’ allies.

Here is the link that has been available to you and the ’round mound’ and the NWH for months:

http://www.orvillebrettman.com/lies-damn-lies-innuendos/ I dare you to read what is there.

As stated before on this blog: Welcome to the County Madiganized by Franks.

Any board member that is quoted as placing Brettman in a ‘poor light’ has been bought or ‘cowed’ into submission by the ’round mound’ who delights in getting Board members fired from their job and intimidates those who own a business by having his union buddies picket their business.

  15. DEMOCRATS (and RINOS) – No morals, no ethics, no shame.

This is why we should vote for Ives in the Republican primaries.

  16. nob’s link to WIKI had this info about Byrd who was a Klan leader.

In the early 1940s, Byrd recruited 150 of his friends and associates to create a new chapter of the Ku Klux Klan in Sophia, West Virginia.[10][11]

According to Byrd, a Klan official told him, “You have a talent for leadership, Bob … The country needs young men like you in the leadership of the nation.” Byrd later recalled, “Suddenly lights flashed in my mind! Someone important had recognized my abilities! I was only 23 or 24 years old, and the thought of a political career had never really hit me. But strike me that night, it did.”[17] Byrd became a recruiter and leader of his chapter.[11] When it came time to elect the top officer (Exalted Cyclops) in the local Klan unit, Byrd won unanimously.[11]

In December 1944, Byrd wrote to segregationist Mississippi Senator Theodore G. Bilbo:

I shall never fight in the armed forces with a negro by my side … Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds.

  17. Maybe AG Madigan could invite Bob Muller, or some of his lawyer investigators, to come to Hoffman Estates and do something useful.

Who is sending out this garbage from address on Forbs Ave?

  18. Mary Margaret Maule you should know of what you speak of before you open your mouth and plsce your foot in i!

I was a health management consultant BEFORE I was an owner of my own insurance agency.

Prior to that I was the program director of the Midwest Association of Community Heath Centers here in downtown Chicago and prior to that I was an Community Hth. Spec. at the National Assoc. Of Community Heath Cts. in Washington D.C

I know about health care and traveled as a consultant for HEW for Joe Callifano.

So yes owning an insurance agency does not qualify for me as a background for that but some people have diverse multi-fascisted backgrounds.

The only reason why I haven’t placed a more detailed description of my background is that the tiny spaces they leave for one to put background info in does not allow one to fully describe it.

Also, your county board chairman also shared his support for the Mercy proposal in written testimony.

Where’s your criticism of him now as he has a far less knowedge based background than I in this field.

The term prejudice comes from the term to pre judge.

  19. chuck wheeler, MMM believes in grouping people, as they do in school . . . to predict outcomes.

Thank you for attempting to Educate her, we can only hope she understands, how to cope in the Adult World.

  20. Who are the masters of playing the race card? Just asking…stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeoooooowwwww…

  21. Curious how stuff appears in newspapers and tv shows about candidates very close to an election or primary date. Recall how top dog news anchor Dan Rather had a fake news hit piece on GW Bush close to the Nov 2004 election. The discredited Rather falsely claimed that Bush was AWOL from the Reserves. For that, Dan was demoted and his producer was fired.

So, how do we assess what the local newspaper has claimed about Brettman? Is this another Dan Rather type smear?

  22. LOL @ Chuck Wheeler.
I cannot believe you ever even got elected to begin with.
It’s clear you are no good and will be without a job soon.
    So Be it, NEXT!

  23. Chuck also forgot that he is a representative of the people and should learn not to pick on voters who might or might not vote for him.
    Bye Bye Mr. Wheeler!!

  24. We see that these cowardly smear attacks on Schuster, Brettman and Tirio accuse them of racism but of course nothing to back that up. Consider someone who was a VP in the last presidential administration, Joe. This is what he said about Senator Obama back in 2007, when Obama announced he would run for president:

“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”

African Americans should have been outraged by this statement from Joe. Of course the Democrat Party and the mostly left wing media just looked the other way and ignored and buried the story.

  25. Another racist remark from Democrat Joe Biden in 2006 when he said that only Indian-Americans operate convenience stores and doughnut stores:

“You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I’m not joking.”

So what did the leftist media, Democrat Party, ethics committee do about this? Nothing.

  26. At a Democrat presidential campaign rally for President Obama in Virginia back in August 2012, here is another racist remark from VP Joe Biden.

He said this about Republican candidate, Mitt Romney, to an audience of about 600 Democrat supporters including numerous African Americans:

“He’s going to let the big banks once again write their own rules, unchain Wall Street. They’re going to put you all back in chains.”

    So, again.

Democrats, the leftist media and the U.S. Congressional Ethics Committee did nothing.

Let Joe get away with it.

  27. Nob is our County’s Nihilist. Who is always masking truth in the desuetude of the lost Democratic Federal abilities. He is in favor of the destruction of good and decent Natural law, in McHenry County sadly…”de temps dont memorie ne court”

  28. And do you think Jack Franks’ allies have spent $5,000 yet on the mailings to defeat those who dare question Jack Franks’ abuses of power?

  29. It Jack Franks Cook County friends have spent more than $5,000, they are required to file their identification with the State Board of Elections.

No such filing has been made yet.

  30. But the group of Jack Franks’ friends totally ignore the white folks who voted to pay for $25,000 in tribute, while attacking a guy who voted, “No.”

    That looks racist to me.

  31. Man, everyone should read the comments here to REALLY understand McHenry County.

It’s funny in a county that has elected, what….a dozen Democrats in 100+ years democrats are seen as this all-powerful, sinister choice.

Paranoia among NW suburban republicans is out of control.

  32. There are many Democrats elected in this county who identify as Republicans for reasons of political expediency.

Just take a gander at the County Board.

  33. I am shocked to read all the personal attacks. The name calling is unbelievable. Stick to the facts folks. Educate each other. Educate yourselves. I would never vote for anyone who speaks poorly, personally, against their constituents. Nor would I vote for anyone endorsed by name calling another. Character counts.

  34. I am shocked to read all the personal attacks.

The name calling is unbelievable. Stick to the facts folks.

    Educate each other.

    Educate yourselves.

I would never vote for anyone who speaks poorly, personally, against their constituants

  35. I love compassionate conservative political history lessons. Here is some more prodigious research for the enlightenment of this generation and future generations of McHenry county citizens:

“Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has received scan few newspaper endorsements, but just a week before the election he picked up a front-page nod from The Crusader, a prominent Ku Klux Klan-affiliated publication that bills itself as ‘The Premier Voice of the White Resistance.’

“‘Make America Great Again!’ It is a slogan that has been repeatedly used by Donald Trump in his campaign for the presidency,” wrote Thomas Robb, the Crusader‘s editor. “You can see it on the shirts, buttons, posters and ball caps such as the one being worn here by Trump speaking at a recent campaign rally … But can it happen? Can America really be great again? This is what we will soon find out!”

“While Trump wants to make America great again, we have to ask ourselves, ‘What made America great in the first place?’” the article went on to say. “The short answer to that is simple. America was great not because of what our forefathers did — but because of who our forefathers were. America was founded as a White Christian Republic. And as a White Christian Republic it became great.”

The Crusader, a 12-page quarterly newspaper, also calls itself “The Political Voice of White Christian America!” and proclaims on its web site that its “number one goal” is to “stop white genocide.” Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock…

  36. @Chuck- I am going solely on what you presented sitting next to me.

You didn’t not qualify your expertise.

Jack’s comments were shared by the MCEDC Executive-and did not give the impression the county board was in total supported the project.

I have mentioned the same thing to Jack as well.

I care about and work for the good of the community.

I still can’t figure out why my District 4 representative was there rather than any of the 12 that represent Crystal Lake.

I could care less that the followers of this blog think of me-

I am pretty confident that 90% of these commentators have never even met me, have no idea what I support or how I think.

  37. Then tell us, Mary. You certainly sound like you have your bun in a snit. How do you get off with an attitude of superiority like that? You could care less? Doesn’t sound like you care about anybody let alone the community.

  38. Mary,
Don’t mind Cindy. She doesn’t vote, or volunteer, or leave her home. She’s a troll.

  39. Mary Maule: Shame on thee!

You represent in your very rotund person exactly what’s wrong with Illinois.

Don’t expect me to save you from your colo-rectal problems.

You know Mrs. G was right!

  40. It’s so funny how many people on here actually use their real names. What are you all scared of? I blame the internet! People can say or do whatever they want, with no consequences and they can hide behind a madeup screen name. Pussies!!!

  41. These have Franks and Dems written all over it!
These ARE the People to vote FOR if you’re Conservative. I ain’t ‘fraid of no ghost- Annonymous attacks are cowards and liars and therefore shall not be seen or heard.

  42. Titus, defending Mary Margaret, is so beneath who I thought you were.

Particularly, when she is quite guilty of doing exactly what you are complaining of.

Mary Margaret Maule, under her pseudonym “INISH” and others, continuously bashes conservatives as well as those who buck the status-quo and anyone who challenges her tax-and-spend cronies.

Those she viciously disparages include some whom you have supported and spoken highly of.

Very saddened to see you come to publicly defend someone as unworthy as Mary Margaret.
