Here’s what popped up on my screen this morning:
CRYSTAL LAKE – McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks has made his pick for Illinois governor: J.B. Pritzker. During a 45-minute meeting Friday with the Northwest Herald editorial board, the Democratic candidate for governor sat next to the first popularly elected Democratic County Board …
Jack Franks is trying another public endorsement (as opposed to his friend’s hit pieces against Republicans he does not want elected).
He is endorsing JB Pritzker, the man who has contributed $72,150 to Franks’ current campaign committee since 2006.
The latest contribution was November 17, 2016.
This endorsement tidbit of political information was revealed last June 29th on McHenry Count Blog in the article “One Percenters J.B. & M.K. Pritzker Give Another $5,000 to One Percenter Jack Franks.”
There are other candidates Franks has endorsed.
One that comes to mind is Hillary Clinton.
Both in 2008 and 2016.
However, in 2015, Bernie Sanders carried the day in McHenry County.
I tried to look up the final results on the McHenry County Clerk’s web site, but it was down at 7:15 Saturday morning.
The Sanders people are now supporting Daniel Biss.
It will be interesting to see how much weight that Jack Franks’ endorsement carries.
Somehow I don’t expect there will be a story about that subject in the Northwest Herald if Biss carries McHenry County.
