2 Polling Place Mailers Sent to 69,500 Households
Even with taxpayers footing the bill for polling location change mailers donning Mary McClellan’s name and photo, and last minute $12,662 to McClellan from Local 150, McClellan still came up short on votes in Tuesday’s judicial primary race. 
With 20.4% voter turnout in McHenry County, McClellan received 6080 votes to Wilbrandt’s 8898 votes.
A FOIA for “documents showing the postage used to mail out change of polling place notices. If it would be easier to provide the total amount than to provide the documents, that would be satisfactory. Alternatively, I request documents showing the number of change of polling place post cards mailed” resulted in the following information being provided to the requester
“there were two mailings of 69,500 each (total of 139,000) at $0.35 /piece = $48,650.”
Note the FOIA was only for polling place changes mailers and would not include early voting, vote my mail, or election judge mailers or advertisements.
In every way, this woman is a disaster, the worst example of a politician with no values or principles. The state’s attorney should investigate her misuse of county funds.
Looks to me like she was doing her job.
It makes me very sick to see this kind of waste with MY money! That’s more money than I have to balance my yearly budget. How dare these people waste my money on junk like this while I am struggling to pay my enormous taxes! This woman is a total waste. She should be run out of town for theft.
Heinrich and Cindy, the Clerk was simply doing her job (as Pacco understands) to inform voters that their polling place may have changed or had been consolidated with other precincts. If either of you voted, and I hope you did, imagine how you would have felt had you showed up at your old polling place with no notification of the change – THEN you would have a complaint.
The local county newspaper has a story today about the mysterious and untruthful mailers that attacked McHenry County primary candidates such as Tirio, Wheeler, Schuster, Brettman. The reporter for the paper said that the mailers were traced to a big Chicago printing company that has done a lot of work for Madigan and the County chairman.
Have to wonder why these particular candidates were singled out for these untruthful and trash mailings. What might they have in common with regard to county politics? Were they a political threat to some big power in the county?
Public financing of elections now! Oh, wait. Wouldn’t this mean the end of sunshine republikkklan fundraisers which our sunshine blogger uses to stuff his belly at every opportunity? Forget my suggestion. My bad. Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meow, meeeoooowwwww…

I for one am thankful for these mailers. I put the ones with Mary’s picture in the basement. Great for repelling mice! much cheaper than traps! I finally feel I am getting something for my taxes that is worth while.
That 6080 vote total for McClellan, is further proof, that McHenry County is a free range, mental illness sanctuary.
There was also a large poster with Mary’s image and name in the Clerk’s office facing the early voting machines.
Cathy Schultz never did that.
If only the mailers were printed on something that is more absorbent…
