In her presentation to the Nunda Township Republican Party last month, McHenry County Treasurer, a candidate for re-election, spoke of the money prepaid by taxpayers in really cold weather in the hope of avoiding Federal income taxes.
“I have $37 million sitting in an account to be distributed when the bills go out.
“They stood out in subzero weather,” she said of the early payers.
Forty-five hundred property owners paid early.
Miller also told of revising the County’s investment policy, increasing the rate of return about 300% in the Valley Hi Fund.
She is such a huge improvement over the last treasurer. She actually comes to work everyday, and continues to try and make things better for the tax payers.
