Guilty, But Mentally Ill Plea for Aggravated Kidnapping & Sexual Abuse

KEVIN A. SORENSEN PLEADS GUILTY TO THE OFFENSE OF AGGRAVATED KIDNAPPING AND AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL SEXUAL ABUSE

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Kevin A. Sorensen, 40, pled Guilty but mentally ill to the Charges of

  • Aggravated Kidnapping, a Class X felony, and
  • Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class 2 Felony

before the Honorable Judge Sharon Prather.

Sorensen faces between six and 30 Years in the Illinois Department of Corrections to be served at 85% for the charge of Aggravated Kidnapping, and a maximum of seven years in the Department of Corrections for the offense of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse.

A sentencing hearing on Sorenson’s charges will be held on June 15th at 1:30 pm before the Honorable Judge Sharon Prather.

This case was investigated by members of the Woodstock, Illinois Police Department. This case was prosecuted by John Gibbons, Chief of the Criminal Division of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office and McHenry County State’s Attorney Patrick D. Kenneally.
