What Township Government Did To 2018 Real Estate Tax Bills — 7 Comments

  1. If they made cuts, is that an admission that they were wasting money?

    How about a refund?

  2. http://www.nwherald.com/2018/05/09/mchenry-county-board-gives-letter-to-rauner-opposing-mcsweeneys-township-consolidation-bill/a986r87/

“McHenry County Board District 6 representative Jim Kearns gave a letter to Rauner’s staff signed by 21 of the board’s 24 members opposing the measure.

“We respectfully request that HB 4637 be permanently put on hold until our county can minimally address the financial burden to McHenry County, its municipalities and, most importantly, the taxpayer, prior to ever passing this legislation,” the letter read.

Kearns said county officials don’t have a map to guide them through consolidation.”

“It’s ironic that then he meets with extremist [Republican Party Chairwoman] Diane Evertsen and by the end of the meeting, at least from the people I spoke with who attended the meeting, leaned toward vetoing it,” McSweeney said.

  3. I wonder why people keep referring to Ms Evertson as extremist when she openly states what is right and lawful that illegal is just that.you can call it whatever you want but in the laws of this land it’s illegal

  4. Townships cut by three percent.

    How much did municipalities cut?

Voters need to be educated before any possible referendums.

Elected officials and the media need to get more serious. (Don’t count on McSweeney to add anything useful to the dialogue.)

  5. The townships should be the first target.

They are useless pension-sh++-holes, and the entity has survived only because of lobby-pigs like TOI.

    There day has come!
