GOP Schedules Second Vote to Put Shannon Teresi on Fall Ballot for Auditor

Shannon Teresi

A special meeting of the McHenry County Central Committee has been called for Wednesday. May 23, 2918.

Having met to elect officers less than a month ago, such a meeting is unusual.

On the agenda is the election of County Board District Chairmen.

Inexplicably, no Republican Precinct Committeeman from District 1 was in the room of County Party officials’ meeting when the recommendations were made for people to replace Andrew Gasser when he retired from the County Board to become Algonquin Township Road Commissioner.

District 1 County Board member Tom Willbeck was backing David Stieper.

Also, is a second vote on who shall represent the Republican Party on the fall ballot for McHenry County Auditor.

Shannon Teresi was picked at a special meeting of the Central Committee right after the organization meeting last month.

Why the second vote is not explained in an accompanying letter from Chairman Diane Evertsen.

The closest to an explanation is the following:

“Due to the political climate within the County, we’d like to make sure all of our t’s are crossed and our i’s are dotted and there are no questions raised as to the legitimacy of the election of our choice for this office.
