Will Paul Serswatka Be the Second Governmental Leader to Leave McHenry County?

Chris Jenner

Paul Serwatka

With two  U-Haul trucks having left Lakewood Village President Paul Serwatka’s home late last week, it certainly looks as if he is leaving Illinois.

If so, he would be the second head of a local government to pull up stakes.

The first was McHenry County College Board President Chris Jenner.

He moved to Fort Meyer in Florida.

So far, Serwatka has not publicized where he and his family are going.

Both officials identify with libertarian viewpoints.

Just received an email from Serwatka stating that he had not resigned.

  1. Hum. Was Lakewood Village President Paul Serwatka’s home up for Sale?

  2. I checked new and current listed homes for sale in Lakewood. Paul’s is not for sale.

Interestingly, however, both, trustee Jason McMahon and trusee Amy Odom have their homes listed for sale.

    Odom’s home is under contract.

  3. Sunshine alert! Sunshine alert! Good citizens, sunshine commenters and every member of the massive readership of this sunshine blog: I call upon you to make a human chain around Lakewood limits and prevent the exit of this remarkable leader of our libertarian movement which keeps growing and soon will surpass the 2% milestone. I say keep our aspiring GQ magazine cover model in McHenry County. Join me in this patriotic event today under a 93 degree sun for the sake of democracy, freedom, low taxes, no sanctuary cities, and microscopic government.161 days…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock…

  4. Several huge assumptions in cal’s post: the savior of Lakewood is moving; if he is, that he is moving out of Illinois.

  5. If it’s true that the Serwatka’s are leaving Lakewood, it’s a tremendous loss for the citizenry of McHenry county.

He needs to do what’s best for him, and his family, but he’ll be missed.

  6. Every dollar you take out of Illinois, is ten times more powerful, than that Chuck E Cheese claw machine vote token you get.

  7. Cal your update is clearly ambiguous.

So he has not resigned yet?

    Has not moved?

I had heard he was moving as the beauticians couldn’t get his hair coloring. the right shade of platinum.

Maybe Federal Farmer has the scoop.

  8. Why are Lakewood trustee Jason McMahon and Trustee Amy Odom moving?

    Is this the Lakewood Exodus?

  9. If Paul is leaving…he will be missed….good luck to you Paul and family no matter where you go

  10. It was two Penske rental trucks.

    His house is 100% vacant.

Nobody at the Village of Lakewood was notified that he moved.

The house is not for sale because he never owned it

  11. FYI, my home IS on the market but the contract did not go forward.

I vowed I’d never part with my grandparents’ house but after all the cancer treatments and surgeries, it’s time to downsize to something smaller and more manageable with outdoor maintenance taken care of.

Hoping to find something in either Georgetown of Turnberry or Falcon Greens.

  12. FYI, my blogger is not for sale. He was sold out a long time ago to nonsense, political gossip, and irrelevancy. Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock…

  13. Mike Walkup probably moved, too.

County Recorder website reports that on March 20, 2018 he sold the family farm at 5215 Walkup to Keith and Christina Roth (doc no. 2018R0008802).

    The buyers own Madoli Farms.

The Madoli Farms website says they have moved in and are opening soon (https://www.madolifarms.com). They also posted a banner along the front of the property stating the same thing.

Mike should probably explain to his constituents whether he still lives in District 3, and if not, why he is still drawing a paycheck to be a non-resident board member.
