Senate District 32 highway improvement projects announced
Six-year IDOT program invests $11.05 billion in roads and bridges across the state
Springfield, IL… State Senator Pamela Althoff (R-McHenry) says the six-year Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Proposed Highway Improvement Program includes several improvements to roads and bridges throughout Senate District 32. The planned upgrades will impact infrastructure in Woodstock, McHenry, Marengo, and Crystal Lake, just to name a few. The first of the projects are scheduled to begin in fiscal year 2019.
“I’m thrilled that my senate district will be seeing much needed improvements and repairs to some of our roads in the coming years,” said Althoff. “Keeping our infrastructure in good condition not only provides safety to our residents but also helps the economy thrive.”
FY19 Planned Projects:
- US 12/Rand Road in Fox Lake
- US 20/Grant Highway south of Marengo
- IL 23/State Street in Marengo
- IL 31/Front Street in McHenry
- IL 120/Washington Street in Woodstock
- IL 132/Grande Avenue from Munn Road to Deerpath Drive in Lindenhurst
- IL 173 at Wilmot Road east of Richmond
Based on current funding levels, the FY2019-2024 Proposed Highway Improvement Program aims to improve a total of 1,945 miles of miles of road and 525 bridges maintained by the state. The multi-year program also includes funding for upgrades to more than 750 miles of local roads and 922,933 square feet of local bridges.
