Sheriff’s Office Investigates Three Vehicle Crash
A 45-year-old Hanover Park woman was in critical condition Thursday following a three-vehicle crash the previous afternoon on Route 120 west of East Wonder Lake Road in unincorporated McHenry Township.

Wednesday at 4:22 p.m., the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Wonder Lake Police Department, McHenry Police Department, and McHenry Fire Protection District responded to the crash involving
- a 2004 Audi A4,
- a 2013 Ford Edge, and
- a 2010 Dodge Caravan.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the Audi, driven by a 30-year-old Wonder Lake man, was traveling eastbound on Route 120 behind the Ford, driven by a 55-year-old Wonder Lake man.
The Dodge, driven by the Hanover Park woman, was traveling westbound on Route 120.
For unknown reasons the Audi ran into the back of the Ford causing the Ford to cross the center line of Route 120 where it struck the Dodge.
The driver and sole occupant of the Dodge [a woman, 45], was transported by Flight for Life to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with life threatening injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the Ford [male, 55] was transported by ambulance to Centegra Hospital in McHenry with minor injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the Audi [male, 30] was not transported.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be a factor in this accident.
The investigation is ongoing by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Investigations Unit.
