Jack Franks Seeks Taxpayer Money to Finance Name Identification Enhancement

Illinois Leaks’ headline nails this effort by McHenry County Board member Jack Franks to use taxpayer money and manpower to advance his political interests.

The names of County Board members and how to contact them is below their article.

Jack Franks prepares for next election; wants McHenry taxpayers to pay for his name –

McHenry Co., IL. (ECWd) –

Jack Franks

It appears McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks is preparing for his next election well in advance, and he wants McHenry County taxpayers to help him out.

Of course, he says he will sign an affidavit stating it is not for political purposes, but is there really any other purpose for “civic engagement” trinkets bearing your name and the office you hold?

He will claim the “public purpose” will be to inform citizens of the county chairman’s contact info, but the bottom line is that this is nothing more than him wanting to get his name out there early and often.

That is how it is done.

He presented a Resolution to amend the County’s travel and reimbursement policy to include allowing the purchase of “civic engagement” expenses like pencils, pens, notepads, etc., containing his name or image or likeness.

Resolution seeking County Board permission to purchase giveaways having Jack Franks’ name on them.

You know, “for civic engagement purposes” – even though every person with even half of a brain knows exactly what the true purpose of these items will be.

This will come for a vote at the August 21, 2018, McHenry County Board meeting.

We challenge Chairman Franks to provide the citation of the statutory power that provides for such an expense in the County Code.

  1. Brazen P.O.S. isn’t he?

Kinda makes you wonder what he’s doing behind the scenes where no one sees what’s going on!

I think we’re probably being taken to the cleaners here.

  2. This is so ridiculous yet so ‘Franks’.

    He didn’t cut taxes either.

An Abatement that would’ve happened with or without him is not a tax cut.

Did he ever get that wardrobe allowance he was looking for on the taxpayers?

  3. This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard of.

Why should the taxpayers pay for ANYTHING with an elected officials name on it with the exception of business cards.

If the Jackass wants to give the taxpayers something he can give them a business card.

We definitely don’t need to pay for the little goodies that he hands out.

He’s trying to milk the county the same way he milked the state.

If the board actually goes for this shame on them.

  4. Might want to allow an official’s name on letterhead as well.

  5. Jack Franks toilet paper and urinal pucks would be quite popular items in the taverns that I hang out in.
