One hundred and fifty volunteers knocked on doors and made phone calls on behalf of Helene Walsh’s slightly more than one week old to win election to the Illinois General Assembly.
She was appointed to replace Nick Sauer after Sauer resigned involved with posting an ex-girlfriend’s nude photos on the internet and pretended to be her with various men.
The candidate was busy thanking those who had helped her just a bit over a week after she had been appointed to fill the seat and given the privilege of representing the Republican Party on this fall’s ballot.
Helen’s husband Joe found himself in the uncharacteristic role of second banana.
But, people still wanted to talk to him.
