From the McHenry County Department of Transportation:
Project Update 08/27/2018
NICOR, ComEd and ATT utility relocations are scheduled to begin in mid-September, continuing through the winter and into spring of 2019.
The County and construction contractor representatives have been meeting to coordinate the roadway construction schedule with the planned utility relocations.
The construction contractor is getting ready to begin the following;
- median removals,
- pre-stage temporary pavement installation,
- tree removal,
- temporary lighting and temporary signal installation
No firm start date has been established for these items, but a mid to late September start is anticipated.
What segment(s) of Randall Road will be worked on?
Incidentally, a reputable State such as Wisconsin, would have made the Randall Road corridor into a limitted access freeway with frontage roads about 45 to 50 years ago.
Long, long before development of houses and businesses started.
As a committed, old fashioned, traditional family values, compassionate conservative, rural McHenry county resident, family man, I suggest turning Randall Road back into a 2-lane rural road with the intersection at Rt. 62 being a 4-way stop. Those in favor say meeeoooowwwww…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock…..
