In order to receive the award, a senator or representative must have received an average of 85 percent or better voting record over the previous two General Assemblies.

Voting records are based on a legislator’s votes on measures the Chamber deems important to the state’s business community.

Senator Althoff received an overall score of 87% (93% for the 99th General Assembly and 80% for the 100th General Assembly), making her eligible to receive the award.

“Helping businesses thrive is a key component of a flourishing economy,” said Althoff.

“As legislators, supporting pro-business legislation is one of the most important things we can do to create an environment where businesses want to come and stay. I am honored to be recognized by the Chamber, and thank them in return for their efforts in creating a positive business climate here in Illinois.”
