Roskam Finds Casten Link to Madigan

A press release from Congressman Peter Roskam:

Casten and Madigan join forces to set up K Street operation

WHEATON, IL — Madigan puppet Sean Casten pledged his full loyalty to the Illinois Speaker this week by entering into a new joint fundraising agreement with Mike Madigan and the Illinois Democratic Party to set up a K Street operation.  [K Street is where many lobbyists’ offices are located.]

Casten for Congress and Mike Madigan joined forces to funnel more funding into the Casten campaign, signing the fundraising agreement on September 12, 2018.

This should come as no surprise since earlier this year, Casten stood with Madigan in defiant opposition to a property tax freeze that would have protected Sixth District residents from the ever-growing, out-of-control property taxes imposed by Madigan and Illinois Democrats.

“Casten already mirrored all of Madigan’s views in raising taxes on Illinoisans and blocking bipartisanship, but now Casten has committed to accept Madigan’s money and do his bidding,” said Roskam for Congress Veronica Vera.

“The last thing the Sixth District needs is a carbon copy of Mike Madigan representing them in Congress.”

Casten’s Tax Hikes

  • In the most recent debate hosted by the Daily Herald Editorial Board, Casten doubled down on removing the cap on payroll taxes.
  • When challenged at a debate hosted by WBBM on raising taxes, Sean Casten refused to deny his intentions to raise taxes.
  • When pressed several times at a second debate hosted by FOX 32 Chicago, Casten again would not deny his intentions to raise taxes.
  • Casten has signaled his support for implementing a carbon tax via his Twitter account, including posts in 2014 and in 2015.
  • When asked during a radio interview with WLS about a plan to raise taxes on gas, Casten said, “…absolutely we should raise the gas tax.”
  • Casten has been one Madigan’s most consistent supporters for a progressive tax hike and aligned with him on Illinois’ 32-percent state income tax hike.
  • Casten stands with Madigan in opposing a property tax freeze.
  • Casten opposed the Governor’s recent budget because he said it didn’t do enough to raise taxes on Illinois residents.

  1. Here we have an unbreakable link to our sunshine blogger. What could go wrong? 52 days…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meow, meow, meeeeeoooooowwwwwwwwwwww…

  2. Do not vote for any Democrat anywhere in any contest – local, state, national – until the Democratic Party kicks out the extreme left wing radical elements who control it. Over the last few decades, this Party has gone off the rails. Top and leading politicians in that Party openly endorse the sheltering of invaders who came and are coming into our Nation. Not content with sheltering them in “sanctuary” places, these Democratic politicians even go a step further by demanding that the federal agency, ICE, that rounds up these invaders, who include drug runners and violent gang members, be disbanded.

Locally, we have a Democratic candidate who makes outrageous statements such as comparing aborting a fetus to simply like a gall bladder operation. This same candidate has compared President Trump to Osama bin Laden who was responsible for the murder of about 3000 Americans on 911.

The days of patriotic and sensible/logical thinking Democratic politicians and candidates ended long ago in the era of FDR, Truman and JFK.

  3. I love the priceless voting advice from our political science and sociology sunshine professor. I will proceed accordingly. Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeoooooowwwwwwwww…

  4. When is the GOP going to learn that teflon Madigan is not a tactic to win elections, its failed miserably in 2014 & 2016. This year it seems property taxes play a center piece with State and Springfield elections.

When is the GOP going to learn Springfield doesn’t control property taxes?

  5. Perhaps you should look at the election results in 2014 when Franks got less that 60% of the vote for the first time in a very long time.

Mike Walkup led the Board to cutting 4.6% by getting rid of the Valley Hi levy the year before last.

  6. **when Franks got less that 60% of the vote for the first time in a very long time.**

LOL – Franks still won by 17%. Yup – that anti-Madigan messaging sure worked well!

If that’s what you have to hang your hat on, you probably need a new hat rack.
