With the resignation of McHenry County Board member Craig Wilcox to assume Pam Althoff’s State Senate seat, there is a District 4 vacancy on the County Board.
The replacement has to be a Republican and be approved by the County Board.
Franks could, of course, appoint Pam Althoff, who is on the ballot this fall.
That would leave a vacancy in early December when she takes office after she wins the election tin which she and running mate Chuck Wheeler have no Democratic Party opposition.

Won’t he try to appoint Althoff?
If Franks appointed Althoff to Wilcox’s position then Althoff’s seat would be open.
Then there would have to be a special election to fill that position.
Franks is not going to lose control of appointing someone he wants!
He knows the rules and the game people!
This is what I dislike about blogs is most people think they know what to do, the rules, the laws, the ordinances, and what is really taking place in government! Know the facts!

Special elections are not held to fill McHenry County Board vacancies.
