McHenry Police Arrest two for Drug Induced Homicide

A press release from the McHenry Police Department:

McHENRY POLICE ARREST TWO SUBJECTS FOR DRUG-INDUCED HOMICIDE

John Birk, Chief of Police of the McHenry Police Department, announced today the arrest of two male subjects in connection with two separate death investigations that occurred in McHenry.

Christopher C. Cimaldi

CHRISTOPHER C. CRIMALDI (age 41, DOB: 11/04/1976) of 1930 N. Orleans St., Unit C, McHenry, Illinois, was charged on 10/03/2018, by the McHenry Police Department.

At the time of being charged, Crimaldi was in custody at the McHenry County Correctional Facility.

On August 31st, 2018, the McHenry Police Department and McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded to rescue call in the 1900 Block of N. Orleans for an unresponsive adult female victim.

First responders performed life saving measures on the victim but without success.

The victim was identified as Heather E. Crimaldi, 45 years old, of Freeport, Illinois.

Autopsy results confirmed that the victim’s death was attributed to the adverse effect of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl.

The McHenry Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, with the cooperation of the McHenry County Coroner’s Office and the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, conducted an extensive investigation into this death.

Probable cause was established to show that Christopher Crimaldi unlawfully delivered the drugs that attributed to the victim’s death.

Christopher C. Crimaldi was charged with

  • 7 Counts of DRUG-INDUCED HOMICIDE (Class X Felonies)
  • 1 Count of UNLAWFUL DELIVERY OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (Class 1 Felony)

Jermal Johnson

JERMAL A. JOHNSON (age 48, DOB: 12/23/1969) of 3070 Caryn Lane, Apt. 5, Waukegan, Illinois, was charged on 09/27/2018, by the McHenry Police Department.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit assisted the McHenry Police Department in locating and arresting Johnson on 10/04/2018 in Lake County, Illinois.

On June 15th, 2018, the McHenry Police Department and McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded to rescue call in the 1900 Block of N. Orleans for an unresponsive adult female victim.

The victim was identified as Jennifer M. Richards, 39 years old, of McHenry, Illinois.

Autopsy results confirmed that the victim’s death was attributed to the adverse effect of cocaine, heroin and clonazepam.

The McHenry Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, with the cooperation of the McHenry County Coroner’s Office and the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, conducted an extensive investigation into this death.

Probable cause was established to show that Jermal Johnson unlawfully delivered the drugs that attributed to the victim’s death.

Jermal A. Johnson was charged with

  • 1 Count of DRUG-INDUCED HOMICIDE (Class X Felony)
