CL Couple Arrested on Marijuana Charges

A press release from the Crystal Lake Police Department:

Crystal Lake Couple Charged with Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver

On Monday, October 8, 2018, at approximately 6:00 AM, a residential search warrant was executed in the 300 block of E. Crystal Lake Avenue, by members of the Crystal Lake Police Department subsequent to an ongoing narcotics investigation.

During the search, officers discovered controlled substances in preparation for delivery and sale, along with Felony amounts of cannabis within the residence.

Further investigation yielded additional evidence of unlawful drug activity.

Resident James M. Fulton, 64 years of age, was arrested on scene.

After a review of the facts of the case with the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, James Fulton was charged with the following offenses:

  • Unlawful Possession of Cannabis with the Intent to Deliver;”>720 ILCS 550/5(d), a Class 3 Felony
  • Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance, 720 ILCS 570/402(c), a Class 4 Felony
  • Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver Controlled Substance, 720 ILCS 570/401(c)(1), a Class 1 Felony

Robin M. Fulton, 58 years of age, was arrested later that day and charged with the same offenses.

James and Robin Fulton were confined at the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock, where they currently remain pending a bond hearing.

The investigation remains pending with additional charges forthcoming.
