  1. Lisle School District is suing them as well for not maintaining a certain number of jobs in a TIF agreement.

Nothing like kicking a horse when they are down.

  2. Sunshine blogger, it seems like Sears needs a tax fighter. Listen to our second coming of William F. Buckley Jr. Answer this call for action. Be civil. Love your neighbor. Despise liberals. Be a patriot. Adopt a corporation. Feed your cat. And above all, stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww…

  3. Just another reason TIFs are bad!!!

They take from schools and the developers don’t have to be accountable for their own success .

If they fail as many of them do – us taxpayers are on the hook!

    SAY NO TO TIFs!!!!!

  4. The Sears TIF illustrates how taxpayers are always placed in a “heads they win, tails we lose” position.

In Woodstock TIF 2 taxpayers in Woodstock D 200 are being forced topay the personal profits for developers of low income housing projects, and a preexisting Walmart.

Citizen taxpayers must understand that TIF is NOT what City managers describe it to be.

And that 35 years is probably not the longest the TIF will last.
