Opposition to McHenry High School and McHenry City Tax Hike Bond Referendums Shows Up in Mailboxes

The committee to hike taxes in McHenry High School District 156 got $2,000 from each of the car dealers in McHenry, so they are rolling in cash.

Until now, no opposition has reared its head except, McHenry County Board member Chuck Wheeler, who wrote an op-ed piece for the Northwest Herald last month.

Today, small post cards from him are being delivered to McHenry mailboxes.

The return address on the postcard indicates Chuck Wheeler sent is. McHenry Taxpayers United seems to be a new player.

Wheeler argues that voting “No” on both referendums will lower taxes by $500 on a $200,000 home.

  1. This is truth, where the campaign signs are outright lies or attempts to fool people into a vote.

    I’m looking forward to dropping my property tax bills that never seem to stop going up!

    Sick of this theft of my hard-earned money.
