Democrat Carlos Acosta Robo-Calls Falsely Implying He Is Supported by Republican Party

A press release from McHenry County Republican Party Chairman Diane Evertsen:

Fraudulent group supporting Acosta harassing residents with robo calls

This time of year, the political robo calls are almost endless.

That’s bad enough but when a fraudulent group harasses voters with robotic calls, it’s even worse.

That’s what’s happening in McHenry County Board District 5 as a group supporting challenger Carlos Acosta is making calls while claiming a false affiliation.

The group, calling itself  ‘Republicans for Acosta’, is not affiliated with McHenry County Republicans.

Diane Evertsen

Diane Evertsen, Chairman of the McHenry County GOP, said that this attempt to sully the name of a legitimate and long-standing organization is unacceptable.

Michael Rein

“This is an example of the ‘victory-at-any-cost’ philosophy of Michael Rein’s challenger,” said Evertsen.

“We don’t support any organization that engages in deceit, deception and, what we consider blatant voter fraud.”

Rein is the incumbent candidate in the 5th District and is running an honorable campaign without mudslinging or dirty tricks.

Evertsen pointed out that Rein’s opponent is abusing the truth and the time of residents in the district.

When asked to comment, Michael Rein said,

“This approach is unfortunate. I believe in running on the issues, such as tax cuts and governmental transparency.

“It would benefit the voters of the 5th District if my opponent would restrict himself to the same standards.”

  1. Well, if Pammy Althoff and/or Sue Low and/or Mike Tryon and/or Sue Draffkorn and/or Erik Sivertson formed a committee to support Acosta and put the robocall out, where is the fraud?

The problem is the RINOS, not Acosta.

  2. This sort of thing happens every election.

Back in the late 70’s, the Democrat who had won the Sheriff’s office formed a Democrats for Ogilvie” committee.

  3. Sheriff Art Tyrell was on that committee for Ogilvie.

Did the robo-call give a number that could be called, aslegitimate robo-calls do?

  4. Robo calls are supposed to give a number you can call?

Them not one of the 6 bazillion ironically I got are legit because I have never been given a number to call.

And I don’t know anything about Acosta but this election,Republican endorsements are poison!.

  5. Nothing more compelling than minuteklan racist Diane Evertsen condemning deceit, deception, and voter fraud. Stay tuned…12 hours…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeeeeooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwww…

  6. Today I received calls from both Peter Roskam and the Illinois Republican Party with phone numbers and options to be taken off future call lists.

  7. My question is whether election law re identification of the calling organization was followed.

  8. Lean forward. Can you hear the whisper? It is the bluenami of votes bringing Carlos Acosta to our McHenry County board. Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeoooooowwwwwwwwww…

  9. I don’t like Acosta, but he couldn’t be much worse than Jung.

If I lived in that district, I would bullet vote for Rein

  10. That would’ve been a good plan, Billy Bob.

    McHenry County dodged a bullet!

    Congratulations Michael Rein.
