The Comments from Capitol Fax Blog about Mary McClellan’s Missing Election Night Votes – Part 2

After a Friend of McHenry County Blog discovered that tens of thousands of votes cast on Election Day did not make it to McHenry County Clerk Mary McClellan’s web site or election results, I emailed Rich Miller of Capitol Fax the data and he called McClellan.

You can read his Thursday article here.

The comments, which come from people all over Illinois will be shared over the next three days.  Here are the second eight:

  1. – Soccermom – Thursday, Nov 8, 18 @ 1:20 pm:This is serious. What happens now?
  2. – njt16 – Thursday, Nov 8, 18 @ 1:22 pm:The same number of early ballots that were cast?

  3. – wordslinger – Thursday, Nov 8, 18 @ 1:25 pm:–In a phone interview Thursday morning, McClellan said the gap isn’t that unusual.

“People just didn’t want to vote for governor,” she said.–

That statement, coming from a county clerk, is absurd to the point of very troubling, given the seriousness of the situation.

Keep an eye on this one. Something really stinks.

  4. – NIU Grad – Thursday, Nov 8, 18 @ 1:42 pm:Pro tip: If you’re not 100% confident in your website’s primary service working correctly, do not feature your picture front-and-center.
  5. – Jocko – Thursday, Nov 8, 18 @ 1:44 pm:How is it every other IL county hovers around 98% and McHenry is at 79%? Something tells me Mary & her crew are going to be looking at a lot of paper ballots.
  6. – JoanP – Thursday, Nov 8, 18 @ 1:50 pm:Who needs Russian hackers when county clerks can’t be bothered to tabulate votes?
  7. – wordslinger – Thursday, Nov 8, 18 @ 1:58 pm:So why was she pretending that it was reasonable to have so many missing votes?
  8. – Anonymous – Thursday, Nov 8, 18 @ 2:00 pm:Who says Republicans don’t engage in voter suppression?

The Comments from Capitol Fax Blog about Mary McClellan’s Missing Election Night Votes – Part 2 — 5 Comments

  1. Miller discovers what it would be like, interviewing an old alcoholic janitor, counting down the days till retirement

  2. Well, this is an old story and completely misses the point, and election results are due today so no point to post comments on a two week old rich miller story. The media did nothing, the right wing talk radio did nothing, and the state and local gop did nothing.

  3. Re: ” the state and local gop did nothing.”

    What could they have done?

The State Electoral Board accepted the Clerk’s explanation.

  4. lol they didn’t say anything. I suppose it’s better to say nothing than something by your logic.
By the way, where are the complaints filed with the SBE? Can you find the complaints filed and post them here?

  5. The SBE only addressed the 24,000 discrepancy. That’s what all the newspapers were reporting. That number WAS fixed.

But that’s not the real story. Nobody in a position of power brought up the real story.

Just think if people act this cowardly now, how will they act in an emergency situation?
