Jack Franks
Last night the nomination of Democratic Party McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks to replace Franks’ critic Republican Craig Wilcox, who resigned to take Pam Althoff’s State Senate seat, was approved with 19 out of 22 possible votes.
Abstaining were fellow District 4 County Board members Kay Bates and Chuck Wheeler.
Crystal Lake’s District 2 member Jeff Thorsen voted, “No.”
State law required that Franks appoint person from the same party as the person being replaced.
The Republican Party recommended John Hammerand, whose term ended on December 1st.
Why abstain?
BO did a similar thing in the state legislature.
